590 gear is going to be worthless though since you can only upgrade 600. 590 will be the new trash loot in this update.
No really trash, still is better to have 590 with good perks than 625 with random. Difference in def or attack is low. Compare it too 570 vs 600 now, you can still easily win.
I mean trash in value economically. Sub-600 gear will have much less value than it does now. This in turn reduces the value of dungeon runs. Potentially the cost of going into a dungeon will be below the value of what you get from it post-update.
To be honest even till now drops in dungeons execpt those special items were crappy xd But PPl from PTR there is no point to buy 600 GS items cuz drop rate of them in mutated dungs is high and everyone will be able to get them easily be the optimist ! This might be the last patch in this game before serverâs close so enjoy xd
The orbs, gating is utter trash.
I wanted to play yesterday, I logged in for an hour and had to quit because there was literally nothing i could do.
Half of my Gypsum was still on CD.
Elite runs were still on CD
OPR was a bust since no one was playing it.
Finally I spammed chat for over 30 minutes trying to do LAZ - Enough people were spamming it, but simply no one had a fcking ORB.
So, I had to log out.
Donât the devs realize how fcking insane that is?
I would almost say with the mutator updates - make the mutated orbs the ones you have to craft and then let all of the standard orbs be purchaseable from the faction vendor.
So if you are not end-game yet and need to run dungeons - purchase from vendor
But if youâre looking for the extra challenge/Better gear - then craft them
Just an idea
If they time gate even this then I literally wonât have anything to do ingame except logging on for wars.

20 years of MMOs and only in f2p games have I encountered time gates on group content.
In other MMOs the difference between open world gear and dungeon gear is a significant jump. The difference between normal dungeon gear and expert dungeons is also a big jump - and you as a character really feel the difference. The jump between expert dungeon and Raid is another significant leap in power. In these MMOs the only locked content is raids.
In this MMO you have normal dungeons locked - yet the gear in them is mostly trash, so much so that you need to farm outside the dungeon to get Expertise up before bothering with the dungeon at all, and even then most of what you get is crap.
Mutations will allow you to go from 600 to 625 GS. But lets face it, the jump from 500-600GS was hardly overwhelming (and all doable without a dungeon, so remind me again why they are time gated?), so a 25 GS is going to what? Give an extra +1 stat? How thrilling, not exactly the equivalent to how it works in other MMOs, and frankly hardly key worthy and certainly not impressive to compare it to âEnd Gameâ gear that other MMOs have.
I mean even to try and make it comparable to other MMOs then normal dungeons would be without a key and gets you to 625 GS (so better than open world gear). Mutations would also not be keyed and go to 650 GS. Eventually raids would come out which would either be same GS but real special awesome loot, or another GS bump and this would be time gated.
Now, I am aware that NW is not other MMOs, but since people were trying to compare and you were claiming all this time gate crap is perfectly normal for MMOs I just wanted to give an example of how it would work if this game were like other MMOs. I am all for being different, but not just for the sake of it. Be different to be better not worse. Currently this game has time gates and insignificant power upgrades for its group content which is a hard sell.

why we should wait 1 week to go in high end content?
give us at least 3 keys from faction manager. Keys is not free, itâs 10k rep+1k gold. If you are thinking itâs not enought, do it 15k rep 1.5k gold, but give this keys for us not 1 in week.
we would farm it anyways, we will buy it from other people, but why we need to get this problems, and just not to buy it by ourselves?

keep in mind that there seems to be a system in the background that is checking GS versus GS, so having a high GS is rather important, at least for pvp and mutation runs.
in other words, in order to run high mutation levels, it is kind of mandatory to have a grinded a high overall GS.
600 to 625 for all slots is an extensive grind on its own, even without timegated Mutation Orbs to actually run them.
For the early phases of classic wow, you would literally spam normal BRD for Hand of Justice if you were a melee

I couldnât agree more with this entire post. There is absolutely no reason to time gate the expeditions. The only problem I see is there is way to much coin being given as a reward from them. Remove the coin reward from the bosses and allow us to play the entire content of the game without the ridiculous time gating between crafting non tradeable resources, harvesting, and them maybe if I can find enough people I get to do something entertaining. This entire system was supposed to be MORE available based on the last dev video but limiting us to 2 mutators a week means there is almost no chance for a dedicated single group to get to the tier 10 mutators let alone even begin to run it multiple times. I was really looking forward to this being more available and an increase in difficulty. To find out that the entire system is once again being time gated is just pathetic. It almost like your trying to design a phone game and you going to start charging us real world money to do the one part of the game that actually isnât bugged to almost unplayability.
We have to grind to even get a chance to play any end game content in this game. Let us just run dungeons without any keys because the loot from the said dungeons is abysmal as it is. The orb should just boost the chance for rare drops but should not be required to run the dungeon.
Of Course the mutation orbs gotta be limited per week. Have you even seen the drops, it is raining legendarys like diablo.
Dont compare mutations to m+ dungeons in wow, in m+ you get 1 meaningful item per week. Here you get 2 orbs plus 8 more if team of 5 players with insane drop rates.
Seems like mutation expeditions will be the only rewarding gameplay if goes live rendering all other content useless since the other activities have no rewards in comparison

Yep , if the amount of stuff stays the same when this goes live - you are pigeonholed into doing these mutations when u log in , or u just simply wasting your time , way to make anything else in the game obsolete .
Not really. If itâs each 7 days you do 5 per week.if itâs 5 day CD you do 7 pee week assuming you donât loose any CD timer .
Because it would make the loot even worse and âfarmingâ dungeons 5 times a day every day is no fun at all. Even now you cant burn all the keys, because nobody wants the great dungeon experience anymore.
If you canât burn your orbs something very wrong is going on in your server.
This is not my experience at all. The only fun activity in New World is running expeditions because all the open world content is run by Zergs and pose little to no challenge and PvP is stunlock/instagib garbage.
And the fact that people are paying to run the expeditions is proof in itself that there certainly is a demand for it.
I would guess that the reason AGS is doing mutated dungeons instead of other things is because they have looked at the data, which shows that expeditions are very popular.
