Does this just increrase reputation earned, so that when you cap faction reputation/lvl it’s useless? OR does it increase tokens gained, too?
From what I understand of the town boards, the quantities of the requirements to complete the tasks, e.g. gather 25 Ironwood Planks, have been reduced to say only 5 Ironwood Planks.
Disclaimer: These numbers are not indicative of actual in-game town board missions.
That doesn’t seem to be answering the OP’s question?
I think they are asking about the territory standing upgrade cards, and personally I am not sure about the faction rep one. I’ve had the impression from other posters that it only affects rep and not tokens, but I haven’t tried rigorous testing myself.
Ah I misunderstood his question, since he mentioned Town Board upgrades. Thank you @kringled for pointing that out.
@Hasil Territory Standing gains increase the amount of reputation you earn for various activities like crafting items, clearing Corrupted portals etc. This reputation gain becomes worthless once you reach 300 territory standing for that particular territory. I usually stop at the 30% increase mark, as the diminishing returns make it so you need 3 or or 4 rounds of upgrades to increase each single 1% after the 30% mark.
To increase the faction tokens gained, you would need the Loyalty perk on your bags. The tokens are a static amount, unaffected by the increased Reputation Earned choice, unless they are being boosted by either the Loyalty perk on bags OR by the 3 daily quest reward bonuses.
Territory Standing just makes it faster to acquire the maximum standing and all the other bonuses that you can acquire as a reward along the way. As you can see from the below screenshots, it does not affect the faction tokens earned.
Yeah, sorry for not being clear. I am talking about the territory standing upgrade that increases faction reputation. It seems that it’s useless when you are capped faction level, correct? Unless it also increases faction token acquisition, which I think it doesn’t - correct?
EDIT: So right now I have 3 options for upgrades:
I am at the point where I will get diminishing returns for points spent in gathering and standing gain, but that’s still better than faction reputation I think, since I am capped faction rep. and lvl and thus it is useless - correct?
Yes, you are correct.
I have over 50% Gathering speed in Mourningdale, because the usual upgrade options are pointless. Past 30% standing the diminishing returns don’t benefit you enough, as the Standing caps out at 300, whereas you will ALWAYS be gathering, so that’s the best choice there.
If you frequently change factions, you could raise your faction reputation, but in my 4500 hours of playing, I have never felt the need to change factions.
