The original post? I responded to you complaining about quitting over an add-on. If I had responded to the original post, which I did earlier, which is why I’m in the thread, then my response would be different.

Here are two statements directly from a developer that came out yesterday stating not a single person has been banned for Overwolf addons, and that it was likely for macro use. That statement was then followed up by an official devblog saying the same thing.
Over 300,000 people have downloaded the minimap addon, that’s more players than the game currently has.
You’re taking, what, random people at their word on the internet for why they were banned without any proof? Some screen shot of an outsourced CS rep saying it’s so?

At least in part, I feel like you’re confounding the mechanics that get you to the feeling of being immersed and the feeling of being immersed itself. Things like the design of the UI can lead to having so much fun that you forget you’re playing a game. As a really extreme example, check out these cluttered MMO UI setups. Is that more likely to make you feel like you’re not even playing a video game or is a really minimalist UI that forces you to look at your actual surrounding going to have that effect? Of course there are options in between, and I think a mini-map is a weird hill to die on, but my point is more just that the UI can indeed impact your feeling of being immersed (or not).

There was quite literally a thread discussing people being banned for using it without warning that I believe was confirmed by CS.
You’re free to go check it out. It’s a very easy thing to search. I will not be touching mods to the game while they can’t even figure out the original code they created yet.
And there is that thread. At the time of writing my response, they apparently weren’t aware of the minimap bans and addressed it later.
Glad the minimap addon works and it’s apparently ‘safe’ now. Per previous comment, I will not be touching it if they have any cases of accidental bans going out.
I linked this to you earlier, with developer comments inside stating nobody has been banned for it and they would add it to the EAC black list so the game does not load until the minimap is disabled, rather than ban people for it.
