[Feedback: Quality of Life, Life Skills Review]

I’m doing this as stories, so you can see the ‘why’ as well as the ‘what’.

As a player, I want the compass/tracking UI to be adjustable, so I can tweak it for my needs.

As a player, I want to set color codes for icon types, so I can easily determine what something is no matter how many icons are on the bar.

As a player, I want to set icon scaling on the compass/tracking bar, so I can toggle the things I’m interested in (or not) appropriately.

(Note: Turning on and off is not the goal here; rather, when I have three icons stacked, I can tell which are what by color as well as shape.)

As a player, I want to be able to turn the “title bar” under the tracking/compass bar off, so I can better discern the shapes and icons on the bar.

As a player, I want to be able to set transparency on the tracking/compass bar, so I can assure the level of contrast needed to distinguish shapes and colors.

As a player, I want the world map to be sizeable, so I can look at it without having my entire world view obstructed.

As a player, I want to be able to review my known recipes by trade, so I can easily reference needs in the field.

As a player, I want my ammunition count to be visible on my weapon tile (lower right) even when it is not my currently selected weapon (i.e., why should I have to open my inventory or swap weapon to see my ammo count?).

As a player, I want a reliable means of visibly indicating when I am targeted by an aggressive/attacker, so I can develop state awareness for evasive maneuvers.

As a player, I want to be able to sort and filter the trading post by all criteria of information available, so I can easily locate and purchase products.

As a player, I want to be able to restrict people in my block list from being able to purchase items I have on the trading post, so I can refuse to service those who are blocked by me. (And yes, I am willing to be unable to buy from them as a result.)

As a player, I want to be able to apply dye to store-purchased set pieces, so I can customize my character uniquely.

As a player, I want to maintain use specific “sets” of armor and tools as templates, so I am not giving up space to be viable in this competitive world. (You do it for food and drink, and to limited degree, weapons… but armor is where it’s really needed.)

Will reply with others as they occur to me.

Gonna be a rolling list here, replies like this one:

As a player, I want to spend less time casting and waiting for fish, so I can refine my reel/rest cycling as a skill.

As a player, I want to be able to estimate/assess a resource node for potential, so I can hone my skill as a gatherer/harvester. (If everyone can do this, what makes one better than another? If you had to define “gathering combat”, how would you?)

As a player, I want to be able to signal/hire a courier to carry my findings to the closest town, so I can unload inventory while in the field. (NPC or PC, but a PC would require more code… mission board of requests? Reputation system for delivery? I just want to ship it, ngl.)

Ok, so this one is less QoL and more ‘something I really wish you had included’, and consists of a few stories:

As a player, I want the ability to grow my wilderness camp into a personal home, so I have a path to home ownership that doesn’t rely upon a faction.

As a player, I want to be able to ‘call forth’ my home in the wilds using Azoth, so I have refining and crafting machines available.

(You’re not going to tell me that a world in which Azoth can disassemble me and deliver me over miles cannot manage this.)

As a player, I want my home to be accessible publicly, so I might generate income from use by others.

(You see a shanty town by Yonas and the fishing spot? I see a single spot that is available and becomes so again the moment you log out.)

As a player, I want the presence of my house in an area to (negatively) affect the potential for corruption’s appearance.

(Assigning people to things like local patrol, border patrol, et al would be a great cooperative opportunity for PvE and PvP. Defend your home, be a merchant, or just do your part to keep corruption at bay… )

As a player, I want my storage accessible from anywhere, so there is parity between the trading post and the storage system.

As a player, I want better payment from town missions, so I’m not giving away refined and produced items at a loss.

As a player, I want more variety in town and faction quests, so the grind is a bit less in my face.

As a player, I want to be able to compare buy and selling pricing side-by-side, so I can clearly see where manipulation of pricing occurs.

As a player, I want to have more informal and non-trade related skins and clothing, so I can deeply customize my character.

More as it occurs…
