I’m quite done with listening to the shard spam as well.
Also a very likely target of RMT
Im still lost as to WHO is buying gold… haha fer what?

Most people who RMT have already made bis gear for the upcoming patch I would suggest. Just look at the crafting leaderboards and then you’ll see who most likely buys the most gold on your server.
If AGS see these trades of 1000x runic/PHX/asmo constantly from players with names like ahwhqgzvsq and they don’t ban anyone, they probably just turn a blind eye
disable votekick when combat timer is on. simple

It’s simple, I think…
I say they permanently ban everyone who has bought or sold gold.
I mean, buying gold might as well be considered cheating.
Shard selling for gold is fine, imo - it’s an honest method of gold earning that players actually earn. Though, I’m on Maramma and shard selling doesn’t seem to exist here.
No remorse for people. I’ve never bought gold or used a crafting station and managed to save enough millions to buy everything I needed off the AH.
I made over 25K coin in a few days of OPR play. People who buy coins are losers.
Made about 40 mil gold in a week of running and selling bis pve gear

Agreed.
Counter to RMT. Just have amazon sell gold matching the rates of the gold sellers so people that RMT can just fund the next patch and it could actually be good.
They would need to sell it at a rate below the gold sellers, where it would no longer be financially-sustainable for anyone, including countries like argentina and brazil where the usd is very valuable…
They would have to make buying gold so insanely cheap to kill off illicit RMTs that the entire market ingame would collapse from it.
It seems to me removing the ability to trade any item or sell via Market to trade is the first step. The second is take hardcore measures to not enable content selling/carrying. Everything should self earned through the grind.
I bet you less people would be driven away by this than say, the current system since moments into launch. You don’t have time to earn your keep, then do something else. As it is look how many of us are doing something else other than playing the game we purchased.
This includes very aggressive daily active handling of bot automation programs.
I mean, that would definitely kill RMT, but it would also kill most economic/crafting aspects of the game. Trying to fully craft everything in this game completely on your own requires enormous amounts of time spent with gathering, and most people would rather not spend all that time on it.
Hmmmm
Another look at this.
They make these shifts in Meta to force RMT buyers to second guess the endless investment if this is how NW creates Meta shifts.
Add catch up mechanics in crafting, seasonal story, and BP that assist in influencing one’s reasoning to continue RMT.
You cant fight rmt amazon cant fight it, why becouse is complicated and if you wana ban ppl whu seling gold you need buy gold to see ppl whu seling gold, just becouse i give my frend 400k its not mean i sell gold you know, so basicly is no trace for buying gold jnless you buy gold
You can fight it.
Just give them a reason to quit buying RMT. While doing that, give them a reason to invest in NW.
Give them a con against their actions and a pro for changing.
It’s basic of sales.
There’s only 2 big groups of gold sellers in NW…big companies and shard sellers…u can’t fight the 1st one because no one will do war that has no incentive,so the 2nd one is best choice…make people can’t sell shards,i bet many farming house will go bankrupt unless they find another game to RMT
Bots only take small parts in RMT,because all mats are cheap now and i can tell you that there’s more shard sellers than bots now
The only way to fight RMT is by making gear a nonissue, and for the company to sell gold directly to players… pretty much how Guild Wars 2 is setup. Anet sells gems to players, the gems can be used to purchase cash shop items or traded for ingame gold. Gearing is easy, the whole game works on horizontal progression so you spend more of your time playing rather than worrying about gold/gear. You get personal nodes in GW2 as well so bots can’t have a monopoly on mats. Plus Anet actively bans people for buying gold from the 3rd party, I know because I’ve got a warning in that game
They want you to buy gems from them and convert into gold, so they bank the money.
This game just makes it too easy for RMT to thrive. With contested nodes, bots always win because they can farm 24/7, so you are often forced to buy from the market. Bots will always end up with more mats to sell than you. BiS gear is hard to craft, very RNG based just like korean MMO’s, so they’re valuable. And BiS gear can be sold/traded, voila, RMT heaven.
But you ask how does BDO, a gear progression, RNG heavy korean game deal with RMT? Well, they make it so you can’t trade gear and can’t trade money, so you’re working on your personal progression in terms of gear. You can buy cosmetics to sell on the market for currency, or better yet use them to enhance your chance at crafting higher tier items. So again, the company Pearl Abyss, banks the money. Nobody spends a dime on 3rd party.
Pretty much AGS made a game that is perfect for RMT to thrive, and they make no money off players lol. To top it off, they are handing millions of gold to companies each week for owning certain territories. Multi-millions just handed out each week to a small % of the playerbase.
They’ve also made obtaining shards tedious but necessary so people pay shard sellers so they don’t have to do the part of the game that isn’t fun…which just feeds the RMT bank even more. Lastly nobody gets banned for selling or buying gold in NW, it’s a free market.
So if you think AGS is stopping RMT, well I’m not seeing it. They’re not doing anything that would stop RMT. And even worse is they aren’t making money off players so this model that they’re running is not sustainable long term.
Say it louder for the people in the back!
Also to note about a year or two ago Pearl Abyss perma-banned a content creator that spent more than $100,000 USDs. After they caught him using RMT services. So yeah, they take cheating and RMT serious. Which is why it’s pretty much not an issue.
I also agree with this assessment. Compared to other popular MMOs, New World takes a very lax stance on cheating and RMT. To the point that if your are not cheating and or RMTing, you setting yourself up for failure. It’s pretty sad in my opinion. But it is what it is.
Link? I don’t believe this to be true.
