Fire Staff direct hits no longer causes screen shake

****** Please make sure you fill out the following information before submitting a report ******

Don’t forget to check the Known Issues List to see if your issue is currently being worked on by the dev team.
We also have existing workaround for some issues that you can find here:

  • What is your character name in New World: looppp
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Yggadrasil
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Before the patch, when the Fire Staff hits a direct hit (whether it’s light/heavy/crit/skills), the screen would shake if screen shake was turned on. This gave magic users a “feedback” mechanism on when you hit a player. After the patch today, this screen shake is gone
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Lack of feedback when hit (other than seeing damage numbers of course) and less “oomph”-feeling when hitting a direct hit
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Sure
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced:
  1. Equip Fire Staff
  2. Have Screen Shake turned on
  3. Hit an enemy
  4. No screen shake

Having the same issue, didn’t realise how much “impact” this made on the weapon feeling satisfying. Hope this is fixed soon

Thank you! I thought I was the only person noticing this and bothered by it. It made FS very fun and satisfying to use when there was that feeling of impact. Now it just feels… boring and weak.

Yup, I really hope its just a bug and it will be back. If they removed it because people didn’t like it well… disable screen shake in the settings? haha
