I can concur: fire staff not working properly. This morning:
I had pillar fire hit twice and not hit at all. Fireball literally going through targets doing 0 damage.
Ice gauntlet : Ice storm doing aoe damage when It wants, really no explanation for it. Mobs just walking through ice storm and ice wall with no debuff. Deep freeze not working.
this morning i couldn’t get pillar to hit anything, at all. I wasn’t even getting agro when i dropped this on a mob. did this for about 10 minutes outside of town and nothing, no damage and no aggro. moved down to the beach, very level, and got it to aggro about 1 in 3 and damage about 1 in 5. back on slopped ground no luck at all. nothing as if i hadn’t even cast the spell.
Ya, it’s a mess, but somehow we are still progressing forward. If there was a patch that needed to be reverted to a previous working one this last one would of been the one to do.
I have been playing ice gauntlet since closed beta. Now, I only use it for ice tomb and some ice shower at times.
AoE really, deep freeze etc are seriously broken. 100% agree on fireball, incinerate is seriously extremely clunky in PVE and only works if people are distracted in PVP.
AGS please fix this, and most of us would love to see more variety in PVP.
The ice gauntlet is fucked. It literally doesn’t work half of the time.
Tbh, I’m pretty pissed off with it. I just spent 50k tokens and 2k gold to buy the level 525 version so I could level it. I could have spent those tokens in upgrading my hatchet instead, and had a weapon that actually works.
atm after the last patch Pillar of Flame do not hit at all for me 1 hit on 10 … same for incinerate… i am just hitting light and heavy attack and now play with all passive only… way to go Amazon Game
-Ice Storm does no tick damage
-Pillar of Fire does damage 50% of the time
-Various perks broken with abilities i.e. Empowering Fireball
-Try to Ice Spike immediately after Ice Storm, and you would get stuck in animation
-Pillar of Fire frequently casts on your own character instead of where you want it to be, so does Ice Storm
Ice Storm does no damage until the Spell is about to end. Also it doesn’t freeze on heavy attacks consistently. Sometimes it does, some times it doesn’t.
Ice Spike is all whacky now, the animation wouldn’t come out sometimes and the monsters would still be hitting me. Then the animation happens when you try to roll away and you get stuck in the animation.
Pillar of Fire is really inconsistent with hits, it somehow does does not damage sometimes. and the cast time is really too slow. There is so much animation in the casting and the follow through. and the spell doesn’t land.
The best part is that these 2 abilities don’t cast where you point them to be. they just auto cast it on yourself after trying to aim. if i could damage myself i would have died like a thousand times.
It doesn’t seem like the passives proc right. sometimes i get empowered sometimes i don’t. it’s not based on chance is it ?
All i know now being a Ice Gaunlet / Fire Staff Spec, its just not working out. Imagine dying over and over and over again at elites just not being able to ice spike, or even dps the monsters down.
Progress in the game just stopped. I’m not exactly looking forward unless they really fix it. there is no point doing a quick fix only to keep breaking something else.
This “should” be addressed in the morning patch that is coming, most the aoes and problems seem to be all linked together regarding the aoe codes they were tweaking.
Spell Strike Consistency: Fixed issues which caused several magic spells, such as Ice Storm and Gravity Well, to not hit consistently.
Fixed an issue that caused Ice Gauntlet upgrade Pylon Dodge to only work immediately after you placed the Ice Pylon.
