mained fire since alpha, and it’s in an abysmal state atm. Im light armor 400 int 594gs keen/ench and damage in OPR is pitiful lul. On top of it, clear casting doesn’t function so fire is losing 5% base damage off the bat, watch it burn doesn’t burn at all, can’t count how many people I get to 1 hp and they should’ve died to burns but didn’t. It’s tilting.
Watch it burn also needs a burn tick buff. 30-40 burn ticks are unacceptable. How does FIRE staff have the worst burns in the game? musket powder burn ticks light armor for 400 for 13 seconds (or 14.8s with poison perk), bow poison ticks for high 200-300’s for max 30 seconds. How is watch it burn burning light armor for 40 damage for 8 seconds. I get that it procs every crit, but the damage is useless. It adds no pressure to landing consistent crits on one person. Musket can pretty much have powder burn 100% uptime if they choose and land their shots, it’s insane.
Don’t nerf musket, but bring up all firestaff burns. Burnout burn burning for 120 damage is a decent spot for burnout but only if other burns are buffed. It’s the only actual above subpar burn fire has.
Fireball burn should give a lasting burn if hit by the fireball itself. Currently it stops burning if you leave the field and the burn is useless. You can stand in the burn and fight in it without consequence. If someone gets direct hit by fireball, there should be a lasting burn ~150 ticks plus the aoe field on the ground. This way if you land a burnout, direct fireball hit, and a heavy attack crit, you can stack a powerful burn on one person for around ~400 (like 1 powder burn) on light armor and it would add pressure but would only last like 10 seconds max. Both fireball and burnout are easily dodgable in a 1v1, so it would take setup to chain this, and against ball groups it would be strong.
it’s just really really bad against medium/heavy armor stacking resil/aversion/gems. It’s actually complete trash, and still, the base damage is just too low. Glass cannon fire is terrible compared to any other glass cannon build.
i still play fire/ig occasionally, medium armor fireball/unending thaw rest resilient, i can near top damage in opr and war, beat almost every build in a duel
but i dont feel that relevant to accomplishing kills, so i switched to healing and IG/VG maybe GA/VG
i think we are slightly overtuned last couple patches but no need to cry at all
OFC you near top damage, 70% of that is from ice aoe. I also use fire/ice in opr and in a good game I can rack about 750k damage average. If I just use fire/rapier that falls to about 300-400k, which is extremely low. Probably about 250-280k is fire damage and the rest is rapier.
yes its silly, i average 85 to 90, sometimes 120k in opr if i pump ice storm on cd.
also our top damage in war (3mills) plays a meme ice build with pylon/spike/storm to be able to drop storm in a 6 sec cds.
in a perfect world i would like to see that they buff the circle(range) of pillar of fire(or a complete redesign to kinda like a wall of fire that you shoot from yourself and pushes away in a line), reduce base fireball damage but make it can crit, a slight overall damage boost in fire, bring down punishing icestorm damage boost to 3% and reduce ice shower cd to 20 seconds, 3 second internal cd to heavy freeze
but its defnitely 100% playable rn
There is a build out there that works. I have 10% elemental resistance from gems with 4 pieces of resilience and I get hit for almost 3k from heavy attacks. They are not squishy either. I don’t know what these fire staff players do, but it works.
the IG is in a great state atm i dont know what people smoking is meta in my server and cheese.
the FS while not in the best shape is still a powerhouse if used by experience players, im guessing you dont use abilities after basic or heavy if you did you can easily put out 3k dmg in a sec.
I have 15% phys resistance with 3 pieces of resil and I get hit for over 3k musket shots If they aren’t squishy, it’s because damage scaling on INT is terrible. There really is no reason to go above 300 int or maybe even 250, so most mages go 150 or 200 con and get the -10% crit / +20% armor con perk at the expense of, barely lost damage. They’ll go medium armor too because the damage loss from light isn’t worth being squishy. I’m 50con/400 int but i’m built for more 1v1’s or 1v2’s and focus on avoiding taking damage at the gain of insignificantly more damage, but I choose more damage because i’m essentially wasting damage if I’m avoiding hits and hitting my shots.
tldr the damage loss from glass cannon vs tankier build is actually low loss and is actually stupid.
he’s playing fire/ice dude, lmao. Let him make the same video without ice. Surely he won’t be 1v2 1v3ing without it. Don’t link rando YT vids to fabricate. If I used fire/VG and got all my kills with VG i wouldn’t call FS good. Ice is good, fire alone is garbage.
He’s also getting some 3.5k crits against 5 con/low resil light armor, big deal. Every other ranged weapon hits higher than that. Musket crits over 4k against low resil.
