Firestaff Nerfed?

Firestaff was nerfed once again… wtf ?

More Weapon Dmg, then my Ice Gauntlet, still 500 less heavy attack Dmg…
Pillar of Fire on a Light Armor Mage, with 700 Elemental Resistance only does 3k crit ( with Rune of Helios, Empowered Fireball, Vicious etc )

Wtf ??

this has to be a joke, a bug or a mistake…

ye same, we tested it 1:1 as u see
way less then IG Heavy Crits, while having Vicious + more Atk

Welp. I’m out. That’s ridiculous. Firestaff already isn’t that great.

I have 600 expertise on my FS and my IG exp is only at 559 and it does almost as much damage now. Was not the case before. Didn’t see anything about this in patch notes.

can we have some clarification on this? this cant be on purpose. Bow Heavy deals the same damage my pillar + fireball do.

Not a big mage main but, I slapped on that FS/IG and flamethrowered people in the arenas got 20-wins in a row easily because it’s just so strong :rofl: both FS/IG and Bow are absolutely wrecking atm.

Yeah well you can run 350 int and 150 con, deal good damage still while having a lot of health at the same time seems fair to me.

Because from a non- Mage Main POV - having access to being able to deal more than 3k+ hits while having 10k+ hp is ridiculous to say the least, that’s just downright broken. FS/IG/VG can miss every left click but since they have access to AOE abilities, defensive utility abilities = they will always have a guaranteed way to consistently be able to fight.

so does every melee. charge to follow the burnout + movespeed buff.
just tested dmg on a ga/wh, heavy armor. he uses 2 skills and can almost 1 shot my 11.5k hp, while i do around 50% my skills+ heavys

I can confirm that FS damage was nerfed with this patch. Not a small nerf mind but roughly a 50% damage nerf across the board. As others have said there was nothing posted regarding the change so one can only assume it’s a bug.

btw tested on another heavy…
empowered fireball perk +32% DMG
1.2 crit multiplier + vicious ( .12 ) + skill .15 > 1.47 crit multiplier, dealt 2k crit fireball

with 360 Int + Opal Dmg (15% ) plus 300 Int Perk ( 10% Dmg ) 625 GS Firestaff

I’m a main FS staff. Played lots of 3v3 yesterday and didn’t seem to be nerfed to me.
100k~200k dmg almost every match.

The main problem here is that FS hit like a wet noodle since day one. You have to be very good with it to have a chance against weapons that can hit twice as you with a single swing.

I’m going to test this today and come back with real information, i think i have some videos or screenshots of my damage from the last version of the game. So I can compare both now.

Yeah, i can see the video. But that doesn’t say much. There are lots of variables testing in duels.
The best way to test damage output is on the dummies or a low level enemy.

That way we can confirm that the damage was nerfed.

With your video i can see less damage, but it can also be an increase in elemental armor, fire resistance, some bugged perk, etc.

Pvp Scaling tested on Dummies is strange af…
i mean i do 7k Pillar of Fire on a Dummie, with Rune of Helios etc… in pvp it does 2.5k…
