You just can’t beat the damage output in gen with grav well and great axe attacks on clumps of mobs. It just destroys them.

In no way is FS beating hatchet in terms of dps in genisis.

It would have to be a mediocre hatchet vs a glass cannon fire staff with bane to even come close.

Add in a hellfire mutation and FS is so far from even being feasible at that point.

Ive said this since day one with mutations it shouldnt be entirely about making an expedition harder but can and should mix up the meta.

Personality Crisis - a mutation where creatures of certain types take damage as if another certain type but keep their creature type. Imagine Lazarus mutated with PC and the Ancient resistance profile that week works like Corrupted.

Neutralizing - imagine a mutator where every creature in the dungeon is considered neutral to all damage types.

Eagle Eye - you take damage based on your distance from the enemy.

Unnatural - enemies have 3m zones around them that reduces healing by 50%.

Eye of the storm - a player is choosen at random and deals 10% more damage while active other players more than 8m away can not be healed.

but i concur that with fire mutation fire staff can lack power, but not enough to not make the dungeons happen and get that 6000 umbrals, i mean how many times i keep getting the damn aggroo in fire mutations with fire staff is insane and annoying at that, but ofc that with random and mediocre ppl, with the big guns no matter what the mobs wont aggroo to any dps if you are a good tanker, but thats not the points anyway.
Like i said a mutated 10 fire lazarus is possible with 3 fire staff users and with 5-10ish min to spare.
Since i only play mage mostly my team doesn’t even care if there is a fire mutation happening we just do it normally.

I don’t like the system too. What at least should be done, in my opinion, is nerfing the resistances and damage boosts so you can reliably play whatever but get a little bonus for minmaxing.

But affixes like 70% less damage type XY is ridiculous, especially considering it only applies to magic. Where are the slash/thrust and strike mutations?

Getting gold with any weapon build on most mutations isn’t very hard…

The whole point was people don’t want to bring FS users in pugs because Hatcher users are the safe bet and people want a fast efficient run.

PVE is the most boring thing in this game so I want it over with as fast as possible so I will bring the composition that saves me any possible time from pulling my eyes out of my head with how mundane mutation grinding is.

In MMOs that give this many choices to the player the player will almost always choose the path of least resistance in dungeons.

Mages exist to be an utility/oblivion bot in higher mutes currently, they get screwed over depending on the element that is active on the week.
When the stars align and the mute element is cooperating with the monster type (gen without fire mute), they end up as second rate DPS compared to stuff like hatchet/spear unless they are playing something risky like rapier/ig or vg (in laz or corrupted dungeons) with 5 con then they outshine the rest of the DPSes.

Mages are not in a great spot right now in high mutes, most PUG group with LIMITED runs will pick an average melee over a mage when recruiting unknown members into their groups.

Sure and nothing wrong with that.

But what i am saying 3 fire staff users just dont do genisis in 5 min because of walking and the dungeons mechanics.

There is no denying it because i do it everytime there is a genisis mutation, it takes a slight more time when is fire mutation, but nothing much.

And like i said when i was arguing off topic, people can actually do and use what they prefer as wep of choice and actually do alot damage and do the expedition fast, but what can’t keep happening is dieng all the time like you are new to the expedition.

How many times i went laz with fire staff and ppl were whining because of it and same ppl did not stop dieng to the stupid mobs? it is incomprehensible for me to that happen.

And i got to refute about the PVE, because PVE is the only thing that actually saves this game, while the combat is great the pvp of this game is just garbage, and no it is not because i suck at it, it is just because it really is. But sure in that matter it is just my opinion your opinion everybody opinions and lets just leave it at that.

Hell i remember ppl saying that Musket is bad in isabella and we got a random musket user, and my teammate tank (in the early days with not so complete build) wasn’t able to keep the aggroo against the musket and we were WOOOW this guy build must be insane, even our bow users/spear were not able to get aggro from it, ofc it was our early days, but still it was insane.
Hell even i went already with a random ice gauntlet user in isabela and the dungeon went smoothly because he was a good player, but also went with someone (ice gauntlet as well) who just kept dieng and actually saying we are having difficulties because of my fire staff lmao

I dissagree, mutators should force you to play differently.

As i said i agree but i wouldnt take out the resist.

I would consider adding weapon gems for str that convert damage type like int gems for physical damage. Then limit conversions to int gems for magic damage weapons and str gems for physical.
