but amazon should do what is right just as cd projekt red did with cyberpunk and offer refunds to everyone that requests them and delete their account.
not our fault it took 200 hours to find out the game is no where near ready for release.
200 hours and asking for 40$ refund.
You are utter human trash I have to say.
Glad you gone
Edit: I need to ask tho, are you really this dumb? You dont know the Steam policy and ask them for refund after 100x the time period in which they refund (2 hours), also you have to do so in the first 2 weeks Im pretty sure. Lowlife.
200 hours of play and asking for a refund… honestly, you’re trying to steal someone’s work product. This game is priced incredibly well compared to any other MMO and has zero subscription. It’s borderline considerable free-to-play priced this way.
Stop asking for refunds, stop playing if you don’t like it anymore, and go do something else. Don’t be a dirtbag.
You know, I see this stupid nonsense repeated all the time, and it deserves a proper defense. If I buy the newest single player shooter and get 200 hours out of it, that’s money well spent. MMOs are a bit different (and survival games). Those are games where we actually INVEST our time. Progression and end-game are something to be chased and invested in, which means we’re not exactly enjoying the full 200 hours. Few people enjoy grinding trees hour after hour. Instead, we spend some of that 200 hours “Working” because we trust that hard work will pay off in the end game. I spend hours doing things now because it will let me craft rare gear later.
So let’s calm down on acting like hours = fun with no exceptions. You can also write a bad review even if you enjoyed your game and got your money’s worth, because you’re giving advice to others. I love new world and I am not going to refund anything, but I would not recommend people buy or play the game until they know what they’re getting into.
I don’t think these sunday gamers understand the concept, just seeing pixels changing colors gives them dopamine lmao, they just kick it with their butty buddies in discord semi afk
people ware stupid and new to mmos or something. Fixing stuff takes months or years. Perfect example is 1.04 patch that broke more than it fixed. Got feeling every patch will brake total random stuff while fixing others.
Cat Mouse and chase
I’d also not recommend until people know what they’re getting into. But someone who DOES decide to buy, at launch, and play to end-game… and then is disappointed by it…
Just because you don’t like the product you purchased doesn’t mean you’re entitled to a refund and essentially gotten full use out of it for free. That doesn’t fly anywhere else, except Costco…
The conversation is tricky because of semantics. We’re not really “entitled” to a refund, but we also know plenty of companies have a “try it in your home 30 days and if you dont like it you can have your money back” type situation. I was mainly pushing back on the idea that play time MUST mean they enjoyed their time and got their money’s worth. I don’t think MMO games can justify their value on played time alone.
I don’t blame someone for wanting a refund right now. I think we operate on a certain amount of trust that MMO games will handle their quality of launch and post-launch, and I think AGS turned out to have a gorgeous game with some very, very serious issues. I wouldn’t quit new world over gold dupe exploits or OP hatchets and heavy armor, but I could see a situation where someone leveled a gatherer/refiner/crafter this whole time expecting to make a ton of money, only to wake up one day and realize their time was all but negated because a few people took shortcuts. In that case, their experience DOES rely on integrity of the economy and I think they have every right to feel miffed and request a refund. And while amazon doesn’t owe them one, it’s a reasonable request and I think they should consider it. I think Amazon expected happy players to last more than a month’s time, and I bet if you asked the dev team, they’d say a person requesting a refund after 1 month absolutely represents an unsatisfied customer.
People love absolutes, so I’m just providing some grey-area context here. We bought the game knowing the risks, but AGS knows they did not deliver up to reasonable expectations and should consider refunds a perfectly valid option.
All understandable points and fair. I think you and I have the same mindsets, personally at least. Beautiful game, has issues… worth sticking it out for a while because there’s so much strong potential. But… mileage will vary for others.
Where you see potential i see a wasteland, 3 skills mmo, super grindy crafting system, pvp got scrapped because pvers cried, no endgame pve, cheaters rampant, etc etc.
I’d way rather spend 350 hours chopping trees than running through the same stupid little alleys shooting the same stupid little rifle at the same stupid little players, dying, and starting over.
Can’t believe OP marked this as the “solution”. What’s it the solution to, you didn’t do anything except pat them on the back.
