Okay so I know Amazon says …“We are doing are best to get rid of the bots” which we all know is full of bull. So I have still been reporting the bots and getting creative in my efforts to thwart them in their tracks. I have even nick named a few and given then unofficial NPCs of New World titles. But I am have come across this one fishing bot I am pretty sure is either really freaking masterly designed or has in house company ties. So the story of EDGvsDK begins. I am 100 % sure it is a bot. It has pretty much fished non-stop for 2 months. My nickname for EDGvsDK is now the Karen bot, because …they are in league with the manager… of hell. They use an exploit to hide under a rock to fish a secret hot spot with out being spotted by the casual passer by. Which is against ToS to start. I first started trying to find ways to rid the world of all the bots in this area. It was very difficult because most of them would come just out of reach for most the mobs in the area. But I found just the right mob to that would cause them damage up under the rock. After a few days of obliteration most the bots that didn’t get banned disappeared. Not the Karen bot! This bot has no fear and one night I caught the user on. I killed the bot and waited almost hours for them to come back to their dead bot to which they would reset the process and I would patiently eliminate. The next day I fell ill. I still had several friends checking on the Karen bot which they stated was still there. They even made bot reports. Today I am feeling better and get on to do my daily duty of reporting the bot, which is STILL there. But guess what is NOT there? The only mob in the area that kill the bots hiding under the rock. I thought at first someone just killed it, but I waited 30 minutes for it to respawn with no luck. Coincidence? I think not. How does a bot avoid being banned everyday for 2 months by multiple players and then the one mob used to kill them is removed all together from the game?
This sounds too bizarre to be true. However you should probably move this to Bugs and also provide a map to show the location as well as a timeline so AGS can investigate.
If they even bother to investigate, they can use the timeline to see if there were mob changes in that area around the time you noticed the change.
Any new ideas you guys have for getting rid of this bot, or keep it from fishing up the hotspot would help? I have tried creating a camp in front of the rock it fishes under, but you can not build a camp near water.
I did that about 3 weeks ago. It was clustered with 2 other bots mind you, the other two haven’t been seen since the report. But making a report for this bot is pointless. I’m telling you… they have connections. That is why this bot is now going to be part of forum story time.
There is a bot like this on more than one server…
And I would not be surprised if the outsourced CS department responsible for banning bots had their own gold selling business… some fishbots seem to have connections.
If this is true, it would go a long way to solving why weaponizing mass reports for bans actually work despite “human moderation”.
Corruption.
And RMT does sell a lot of coin and make a lot of money. Players who buy probably spend more on RMT than the one-time cost of the game. Like this one:
Haha, sounds like my story.
(at the end of the video he is stuck at my camp.)
i have reported this bot with video evidence via the webticket, few min. later i had 1 view according to youtube analytics and few mintues later the bot have learned to climb over my camp.
I’m already sure this was just a coincidence, but it’s kind of crazy.
I have been reporting this bot for almost 3 months now, it is so annoying that nothing is done.
The bot is still online.
Now imagine that mob you used to attack him completely disappears from their designated loop the following day. I have characters I created on other servers. I am going to go check if it is still their on those servers or just disappeared on mine.
If that would happen, I think I would leave the game.
Jan 23, 2022 EDGvsDK “Karen Bot” is still fishing with her new found bot buddy. This is only the second appearance of caymdiddt. I have not given them an unofficial npc name yet. Though some new development! dsfhc “Richard” is back. I have been scoping out new protentional ways to thwart their botty actions. Karen Bot is level 60 now!! So all you peeps now know. You can reach lvl 60 from just fishing… as a bot.

You need to post a full screenshot or two with the location details in the upper right hand corner of the screen and a post in the Bugs/Exploits forum or just crosspost that video you made, which tells the story perfectly.
As an avid fisherman in this game the bots are seriously frustrating and one of my biggest gripes with the game right now.
From my perspective there is really only one currently logical solution: There needs to be a squad of mods that are empowered to see reports of bots with location details, teleport to those coordinates, observe the bot (DMs, Area chat, observation), and issue permanent account level bans as soon as they are sure of what they’re seeing.
Oh I have done that several times. Including the in-game coords and all. The bot I call Richard was I believed banned a few times from my reports. He disappears for exactly 3 days and pops back up right back up. He is the oldest bot. He has been on my server since the first day I transferred several months ago. Karen bot has been about a month and a half. She never gets banned though. That is the reason she is level 60 before poor Richard. If I make this feed about a report it will just get removed. I have gone passed the reporting phase. I am now at the “can’t beat them join them phase.” well in a sense I am giving them a story anyways.
