Why has fishing been nerfed? Why don’t we get a hit hotspot notification anymore? Did they post an update explaining the reasoning for these changes?

I too really miss the notification that you’d successfully hit the fishing hot-spot. There seems to be no official statement (that I’ve come across) that states that it is intentionally removed from the game, and not just an introduced “bug”.
I’m pretty sure it’s a bug.
