Fishing records Board

It would be fun to have a fishing records board that shows the largest fish caught per type per area with the name of the person who caught it.

The game already keeps track of the lbs caught ala the 10,000 pound achievement. It doesnt even need to be a reward, just peacocking a townboard with the top 20 in that region would be cool.

It would really throw a bone to the fishing community while some of the other major kinks get ironed out (ie luck, lvl200 perk, missing trophy’s, +40dex in a region with only 1 star hotspots :\ )

wow out of everything that gets posted this is the first response ive seen from a “mod” great idea but so many other things should be addressed like the damn bots that have been reported over and over.

I think a fishing competition would be really fun. However, there are some issues that need to be considered for this to work.

• fishing competition should be a timed event for 1 hour at most. This will allow casual players with very little game time to participate and prevent the competition to be exclusive to players which have too much time on their hands.
• luck gear and food bufs should be negated to allow for a fair competition. Low level players don’t have access to full luck gear.
• the event should force players to use a standard event rod because the level gap between players will give a massive advantage to level 60 players who can wield ironwood rods/legendary rods.
• the event rod should change the way reeling, casting works to make the competition more about skill and less about luck.

Love this idea! I would also be happy with a simple fishing log for our characters, a journal page that tracks the biggest fish we catch per region would suffice Maybe then it could be expanded into a server-wide fish tracker afterwards.
