or change melee to have more of an extremely short projectile so that the server will actually register it. For whatever reason the server can’t recognize melee swings about 50% of the time.
I don’t know but there has to be a fix.
Melee is incredibly frustrating over and over simply because one cannot hit anything outside of CC/ability windows
I agree with Figurines. There is something wrong with melee tracking and abilities connecting still. I specifically still get hit desync with sword attacks and abilities and same with hatchet.
but for the sake of arguing, my ping is around 80 to 90 and there’s nothing I can do to make it better as I’m in MN and does not matter if I go to west or east server, it’s the same. So it could be a possibility that I’m SOL and I’m just going to have server connectivity issues since I’m going against plp with way better ping.
the real problem is the idle time after a hit.
there are some weapons that immobilize you more when you hit with (great axe)
you must have control of your target before you can deliver an hit, then after do a dodge to get back on the player.
I have 10 ping and melee attacks hitting still feels like shit. Hit registration is only part of the issue, the self root on attacks means the person walking away will always gain distances. There is a reason other games let you attack while running for balance even if it results in a “floatier” feeling combat
I do agree that melee tracking needs to be improved.
It shouldn’t be the case that someone holding W can escape from melee attacks
/abilities for free.
My experience with melee weapons vs W holders.
Negative experience:
Ferral rush can be dodged by holding W.
Hatchet/VG/SS light attacks can be dodged by W.
Shield bash can be dodged by W.
Flourish and finish tracking is a meme - 2nd hit misses 95% of times.
Use case example:
It’s frustrating when I am trying to ferral rush someone who just W-alks away and not even trying to dodge.
I want: when using a ferral rush to have a guaranteed hit on a target within the range of ability unless the target dodges
If they don’t see it coming or they don’t dodge when they see it or they are exhausted - there should be a guaranteed hit. No W-alking/running animation should be helping you to escape that
Positive experience:
Spear - autos and perforate.
Leaping strike.
WH light attack tracking looks good, feels like its even better than GA light attacks tracking
