I was kicked from the game for the restart in EU and have been queuing for 3 hours and moved 50 places up (455 to go).
My friends who managed to get back on have said the towns are full of people AFK. How are we ever meant to get on the game if people can remain online AFK with such little server space available?
I absolutely agree that having AFK characters isn’t helpful for us getting into the game, and isn’t helpful when in game (it’s hardly immersive or engaging, seeing vacant inactive characters with names over their heads).
It would be desirable and improve experience if we’re logged out after a certain duration of AFK.
ok, if you dont get kicked when being afk for hours… i totally understand doing it - who wants to wait 4,5,…9 hours in a queue? and i also understand that this makes the problem bigger and bigger and bigger…
Yep, when I was in the game for 3.5 hours this morning, there were a lot of AFK people standing around in Windsward, that’s for sure.
Any time there are queues like this, people will do all kinds of things to make sure they don’t log out – tape down keyboard keys, make macros, etc. It’s understandable, but it just makes the queues several magnitudes longer than they otherwise would be. It needs to be limited somehow.
It does time you out eventually, but I do believe it is awhile. However, there are obviously quite a few people running into walls in an attempt to avoid any AFK timer as well.
