musket invaildates the core machanisim of the action combat, which is act and react.
with the hitscan, there is nothing u can react.
All you can do is to act, run in zig zerg, dodge to hope they gona miss or to hide behind object.
remove the hitscan, so ppl can actually react to it, will fix half of the complain and hate towards the weapon.
If AGS does not remove the hitscan , then they should add time delay on standard shots.
the trace should appear 1st, then after maybe 0.2s (slightly less than 0.25s the avg human respone time) the dmg will regist, so that ppl can actually react to it by block or dodge.
Also make musket shotting animation in a fixed timing.
make shooter stance animation fixed like the bow’s rapid shot, so ppl can actually react to it by time it.
And then remove or double the CD of tactic loading which loads while dodge.
You do understand that it’ll still be a very fast projectile…right?
Hitscan or not…it’ll still be hard to react to up close lol. Maybe at around 80-90m…even then, it’s easier to lead someone instead of trying to stay ontop of someone.
Players act like hitscan makes it insanely easy…when a characters slight movements can make you miss…
tbh after the first hit you can pretty much dodge all musket attacks generaly cause u can just count the reload time and dodge they very rarely hold there shot if ur running at them
Musket bullet veloccity was 120-370 while bow is max 50 m/s.
So yea it would be to fast to react to. With 120 - its 2x as fast as bow arrow we could react but anything x3 + i think would be to fast.
Bow projectile in game is pretty slow so even if we make it x2 as fast there is still time to react to it i think.
