yes its still broken. only bad mages say its not op. i play mage all the time and its laughable how much damage it does compared to how easy to use it is. mage is a braindead class which is way too overtuned. you dont need aim, timing or precision. everything is aoe and does way too much dmg.

What you are describing is melee, not Firestaff. Melee attacks are all AOE, track the enemy, and do far more damage than Firestaff. So flamethrower is just like a melee attack, only without grit. In what world are Fire Mages OP?
The only ‘damage’ it does is total damage on leaderboard charts in OPR/Wars and that is just AOE damage erased by AOE healing.

Yea, that was a ridiculous statement in the video.
‘No matter which way he turned, someone was flaming him in the back.’ Try a 1v3 against melee (or bows/muskets), you won’t live long enough to turn and face them one at a time you, will simply be dead 2 seconds after the first attack. In fact, it shows just how NOT OP the ability is.
The only time FT is half decent is when people let you channel it on them, good players have no issue destroying a mage using this skill…
Currently, mages are the worst class at pvp so idk why are u crying so hard, it seems like you dont know how to play pvp
LOL? Literally, you need to aim your pillar and basic attacks at the same time you dodge and pray for not be taken a simple enemy basic or u will be staggered, knock backed and cced by every single weapon on the game, if you guys cant handle a toogle skill that doesn’t have GRIT idk which kind of NW you are playing
I am so proud of most people on the forums recently, this gives me hope for the game. Need to call out these type of posts for what they are.

How you cant deal with mage using FT in meta where he cant run away if you hit him with any mele weapon? What build you use that u cant outdps FT? You use fists?

1 dude with GS, hatchet, ss, spear or whatever - and you die couse 1 mele connected and you cant run away while in same time you cant outdps any mele weapon using FT. You can burn only bad mele players that only keep W and use LMB.

you have ice shower, entomb and if you use it burnout. 3 spells to safe yourself and run to your teammates for safety. if one melee is all it takes to kill you you should either work on your armor/gems or on your ability to run away or fight.
also this is not a problem to mages. every light class struggles against GS atm. i’m mainly playing heal and i had huge issues against GS at first but with some new gems in my setup and a little time effort to learn the new animations of it i dont struggle as much anymore.
