FOC scaling gems are unfixable design-wise

The 20% will stay forever as 50% is broken design wise.

Assuming i make a 150 strength 150 focus character with Warhammer and Life staff.
I have average healing and average dps.

If the 50% FOC scaling gem is fixed, then i ignore all strength and go into focus alone.
I have 0 str, 300 focus. Due to the gem, my damage is average (same as above) but my healing is top-notch now (as i got free 150more points into focus).

Im pretty sure that design team realized that healers cant have too much damage on them, and 20% is plenty. 50% would be plain OP so this thing is never going to be fixed.

Whats happening right now is a silent ignore phase, and at some point a patch would remove the gems.

And as pure healer in light equip load who just want to play healer, what do you suggest our 2nd weapon should be?

Whatever you want. Thematically pick what you like.

Practically. Ice gauntlet would give you mana regen / protection on demand.

Hammer will give you cc.

Gem for Focus. Enjoy what you want.

They should just make respec free for both stats and weapons, or offer some sort of saved build slots to freely swap between. Game only allows one character and the point of being classless is to switch around and build how you want, having a cost attached is not fun design considering how often a player might need to switch.

Open world builds will be different from PvP, from expedition, from invasion etc, and if you’re not running the appropriate builds you are inconveniencing other players in ways that is more punishing than other MMOs.

Healing is something that needs balanced and healers should not be able to do damage, they should only heal to keep balance. So free swaps would mean healer mains can switch to an appropriate build when they are solo and their healing is not required and then switch back when it is. I like healing in this game despite it being janky but I refuse to heal oftentimes because I don’t want to spend the currency to switch. I already spend a lot to switch to other builds and then to switch back every time it’s 1000g total.

Hopefully they will remedy this as it will help balance healer roles more when the option to switch at no cost is there so they don’t have to make healing be damage viable.

yeah and the gem is wonderfully broken so you just spent good money to buy a 50% gem to upgrade your lvl 2 gem and you now do LESS damage than you did with the cheap gem… yay enjoy what you want… = I rerolled away from being a healer… I can now easilly do my quests and farm ores… but I can’t heal my group when we hang out

Thats a question i keep asking myself. Right now im running with two lifestaves for double +focus.

they never should’ve nurffed the Gem in the first place… they didn’t want healers doing High DPS which I find to be a lame reason…

I di dnot know that the 50% FOC gem was not working. Can you provide me with a link to that report?
What about the 30% and 40% FOC gems? Are they also broken?

They really need to revert the Life Staff rework, would solve most of the current problems people have using the weapon or fighting against it.

Search it on you tube. Several tests done if you are happy to quote YouTube as a source. But you can test it yourself for a cost.

20% gem is the only worth while one to use. Yes.
