Focused Feedback: Bearded Dad Edition

Hello all, wanted to take some time to put all my feedback into once place, and this list is not ordered by importance but as someone who just loves this game and hopes for its continued improvement, here are the items I feel are the most important.

  • XP Post level 60 progression, tie it into the Gypsum system, and offer some type of reward for gaining a level after 60. You won’t get to 61, but you will put value in all ways that the game gives you XP. At level 60, having no XP rewards devalues the methods of getting XP and regardless of if you’re casual or hardcore, it’s a rewarding system for any type of player

  • Weapons post progression - same thing with your level, weapons would be a great system to have people level up post 20, no more skill points would be rewarded, but other rewards could be granted, like umbral shards, or expertise.

  • Mutators System Progression needs to be better balanced with the rest of the content in the game. At the time of this recording, the only way to get to the new gear score cap is through the mutator system, which puts that system as the focus. In the short term this isn’t that bad, but over the long term, all content in the game should have some form of progression for players. Be it the content, or the economy.

  • Native Controller Support - while I play this game on a controller and it’s my preferred way to play, New World needs native controller support, this would make it so much easier to do some things within the game itself, steam support is a placeholder and hopefully New world builds out native support to better support a wide range of players

  • Outpost Rush, as a pvp mode, really needs to look at cross-server support for pulling in players. I’ve gone back and forward on this, but in the end, waiting in queue for hours because I play at weird times of the day, isn’t ideal. It gives me the ability to do more open world stuff, but because XP doesn’t have any value at 60 is less than ideal again. If we could pull from a wide range of players across servers, then you’d have a bigger pool of players for the matches.

  • Leaderboards, stats for pvp and pve, giving players the ability to gamify more of the games content for their own enjoyment is a good thing. From wars, invasions, out post rush, dungeon mutators scores, yeah, give us more stats about our characters

  • Smaller company support for making money. - one thing is if you control territory, you can make a lot of money, but for small and medium companies, this isn’t the case, they need to open ways to help funnel coin into the company without the request to donate from the player base. I think smaller/medium companies should have a way to tax or get bonus coin via content, company quests, or even a company level that continues to go up though player engagement and activity.

  • Orbs and Dungeons (aka expeditions) - I’ve been fine with dungeon keys, as a way of having value in the open world, and the fact that more items are now tradable on the market to make the keys, but in the end, I do feel that even the orbs themselves need to be tradable on the markets, for those who want to just craft up the keys, allow players to ether supply the mats, get the orb, or buy them off the market. If there needs to be some way to limit key use or cooldown, so be it, but in the end, trade is a key aspect to these types of games, and if someone doesn’t care about running dungeons, but wants to supply the market with keys, so be it

  • Gearsets - The ability to save gear options for easy access in equipping and management. Switching from a gathering set to my healer, or my tank. It would be nice if stat points where also included, but those adjustments do cost something so that might still be manual, but I’d love to be able to manage my “build” in a better and saved way.

As always thanks for your time and I hope you all have an epic day.

This is one of the best ideas I’ve seen yet.

Good post! would just like to add:

More pvp modes!
A simple 5v5 Deathmatch could be so easy to develop (in my humble and unexperienced opinion) and maintain, plus adding some kind of ranked sistem or LEADERBOARD as OP already mentioned would make it so fun/rewarding. CTF could also be just sooo fun.

As a plus i think that these queue pvp modes like OPR and the ones i just mentioned shouldn’t take gearscore in count, it stops so much players from having a fun experience, at least it does to me. Gearscore works great in Wars, invasions and basically all pve Content (maybe even OPR to leave it as a pure endgame pvp mode) but there’s almost no viable pvp content for new players WHICH THE GAME REALY NEEDS RN.
