I understand your point of view. I simply have different expectations than you do.
That kind of stuff just doesn’t bother me because I can control my own game experience to a degree.

according to you, the -selfish- decision is to go to the forums and request a merge.
the same logic dictates that going to the forum to oppose a merge, which you are doing, is also selfish because it seeks to deprive the destination server of the increased population they desire.
Unfortunately, I feel that you are correct. But, if I don’t ask, then for sure nothing will happen.
The worst that can happen is they say “No”.
I’ll still feel like I was shortchanged on this transaction, but I’ll continue to play and my feelings about the game will remain the same.
As someone mentioned in another post. I attempted to make my gaming experience better by purchasing a transfer to a server that appeared to be more to my liking, and ultimately ended up being a victim of bad timing.
Though I feel it’s irresponsible of AGS to not compensate people caught out like this there is no other game that I would prefer to play at this point in time.
No because opposing a merge is retaining the current state of the server. Not everyone wants to merge. So your desire completely changes the server for those that don’t want it to change. Whereas you could just transfer and let them retain their server. Their decision to want a low pop server doesn’t affect you cause you can transfer and leave their works as it is. You are the one that wants to change their server. They don’t want to change yiurs. Where your decision to merge completely changes their server. Why is that hard to understand? If I’m on a low pop server and want a high pop, I’m not going to demand everyone else change the server cause that’s what I want. I’m just going to transfer. The fact that you don’t see this is quite baffling.

Unfortunately that seems to be the projected future for the game.
AGS is simply following the money. They are a business after all.
I’ve still got both of my free tokens from a year ago, when this exact same situation happened.
I also haven’t logged on in nearly two weeks, so none of this really impacts me.
AGS is putting profits over user-experience and that‘s all I need to see to stop supporting them.
It wasn’t until all the “merge server now” people starting crying. You got your way now and the op gets to transfer again. But you get off free cause it’s all about you and you scream the loudest and most often. You don’t care about anyone but yourself. That’s blatantly obvious. I don’t expect anything different from you tbh.
Do you think merger people are a majority or a minority?
Do you think AGS was catering to a select few or serving the greater population?
Idk.
But I do know that I personally would have transferred before expecting others to merge who didn’t want to. But then I’m considerate of people on my server and understand many don’t want high pop servers and don’t want to ask them to merge to a high pop and then pay for a transfer to another low pop when they are already on a low pop. But that’s just me.
I’ve read enough posts about people unhappy with merges and I understand where they are coming from and personally don’t want to be a part of the very vocal “merge servers now” crowd cause we think we speak for everyone on our server.

The very first server that I was on got pretty low pop. Around the time that there were like 600ish people at peak, there were some people who liked that. Most of the people on the server didn’t like that and we were super happy when they announced the first merge.
What I’m getting at is you’re assuming that most of the people on the low pop server like it that way. Which may or may not be correct. I’m more inclined to believe that more people on those servers don’t like it being low pop, but that’s another assumption.
I’m not assuming anything. I’m strictly saying that I understand that there are people who like the low pop server and I’m considerate of them and I would transfer myself before vocally and loudly screaming about merges in the forum.

Sure. But why should most people leave because a few like it the way it is?
Respect, but maybe it’s not just individuals. Maybe it’s while companies or friend groups or whatever that don’t want to split up because some can’t or don’t want to pay.
Because they are the one who wants a different high pop server.
If everyone around me wants a merge but I don’t, who am I to tell everyone to pay money to go to. Different server? Seems selfish.
AGS should do the right thing here and refund all transfers off of any servers that are listed in the upcoming merges, both the servers being merged and the ones being merged into.

You are assuming most people want to be merged. If people are enjoying their server and I ask them to merge to a different server seems selfish? They aren’t forcing you to go. But you are forcing them. Apparently from the posts there are many people who don’t want their servers to be merged.

I guess it’s an impass. I mean it isn’t really because AGS already said if a server has 1000(?) people than it’s up for merging. The information is out there for anyone who is planning on transferring to a low pop servers to discover. Which brings it all back to why would they refund someone who chose to pay to go to a server that is likely to be merged.
i have only ever played on one server. after december 1st all three of my toons will be on it.
i play the long game. i am not what you describe.

You’re not missing anything. Camelot merged into Aukumea bringing it’s Furry community and all their toxic and antagonistic behaviors with it.
