Fortifies - OPR rewards and contributions(a lack of)

Opr as of the coming update will be based on damage and healing, with little else being considered. Will the starting strategy of “everyone runs to mid ignoring astra or luna” change? Probably not. There is no reward on the scoreboard for capturing points. There isn’t even a point reward for winning either. This isn’t even about my main feedback on fortifies. This is just some of the many oversights of the OPR score system. This matters because the lower you are on the scoreboard the less coin you get. This isn’t about clout.

The main complaint I have about the OPR score system is fortifies. Fortifies are damage reduction percentages for anyone unfamiliar, and are extremely powerful when stacked. Enough fortify can take what would be a 1000 damage hit down to 333 damage. This is a significant percentage of damage. But, this kind of damage mitigation is not included anywhere in the OPR scoreboard.

I run sword and shield with a life staff(200 con 250 foc), and I will almost always without fail get lowest on the scoreboard. Why is this? Its because I actually play at unguarded points standing around with another enemy player on the point preventing them from capturing it. I get no score for doing what needs to be done to win the game. Denying the enemy team a capture does not yield someone points, and as such I never get a good reward from playing OPR.

Now that my class and reasoning are out of the way, lets finally talk situations about how the opr scoring system is unfair. Lets say there are 2 teammates around me in melee range for whatever reason in a grav well. I use sacred grounds(fortifying) and then raise my shield. That’s 40% fortify. Assuming fortifies stack additively(i highly doubt they do), and each of the 2 players taking 10k unmitigated damage, I would mitigate a total of 8k damage they would have originally taken without my presence.

Is this contribution to damage taken recorded in any way by the game? No. Is this a significant contribution to that situation? Absolutely. This kind of situation happens frequently.

Another example of a lack of credit for a contribution is sending a tank to stand on a point with 7+ of the enemy team on it. Having a point be uncontested makes the point capture faster if there are multiple people on it. If there is even a single enemy player on a point being captured, the capture speed slows significantly. I don’t think anyone would disagree that trading the life of 1 person for a 10 second delay on the capture of a point with 5 or more people on it would be worth the cost. This situation gives no credit for the suicide runner however.

So, to sum it all up - The OPR scoreboard system is flawed in many ways. Fortifies and Capture points are my greatest concern, with each giving no contribution to the score board of the game.

TL;DR
My desire of what is to come from this feedback is that Damage mitigated becomes its own stat similar to allied healing or self healing. Also similar to both stats, is that you would get points on the score board for mitigating the damage an ally would take through fortify, at an equal value to healing. After all, not taking damage is just as good as healing it.

As for who to give fortify credit to if there are multiple of the same fortify, have it be whoever has the active fortify at the time.
