FPS cap isn't working peoperly

  1. Set the FPS limiter to 30
  2. Go to open world
  3. The game limits FPS to 40 for some reason, 40 != 30.

This happens to me too…
I set my fps to 60, and it hovers around 70.

Same for me: 60 → 70 and 30 → 40.

You can actually set a custom FPS in the game settings. It’s really easy to do.

  1. Local Disk (C:) - where you saved the game
  2. Users (your name)
  3. AppData
  4. AGS
  5. New World
  6. Save Data
  7. User Settings
  8. Change number value in the highlighted row to what you desire.

Additional:

  • V-Sync on in game will over-ride this so have it disabled.
  • You are better off enabling V-Sync via N-Vidia control panel - Manage 3D settings options.

My monitor is 60htz and when i set it to 60 in game, I get screen tearing because it actually does 65 FPS. Hence why mine is set to 58 in the image above.

This is great for people with good graphics cards and monitors that might want 120 frames per second without using uncapped. As uncapped could potentially harm the PC.
