It has been like half year not playing NW.
But recently I’ve seen some random YT video about some good changes so I come back and try it.
Currently there is a new problem I never encountered before.
I bought an ultra wide screen and the resolution can be 3440x1440.
When I logged in NW, I found that the game is pretty much lagging with less than 30 FPS.
I can clearly remember that my PC can sustain 60 FPS in the field and at least 45 in the town.
So, after trying many settings, I found that the game will massively drop FPS when your resolution is higher than 1920x1080.
Once I switched back to 1920x1080, my FPS drastically raised back to 60 FPS in the field and 50 in the town with “High” graphic setting.
But my FPS will drop to less than 30 in field and 25 in town with “Low” graphic setting when I switched back to 3440x1440.
I’ve made so many test and confirm the FPS issue is caused by the resolution.
I think this can only be fixed by AGS development team.
The game feels going to a good shape in recent patches, but the gaming experience will be strange for most of the ultra wide screen users to switch to 1920x1080 for steady 60 FPS.
Please consider to fix it in the next big patch.
My specs:
OS: Windows 10 x64
MB: ASUS Z390-A
CPU: i7 9700K
Graphic Card: GTX 1060 6GB
SSD: Intel 760p
Memory: DDR4-2666 64GB
Power: 600W
Monitor: MSI MAG342
I change my thermal grease for CPU and GPU every year so I think the over-heat issue can be ignored.
