Freeze into crash on Fresh Server

Hi there !

Could use a little help, i keep crashing while in game after 10min to 1h / just after queue.

My screen froze in a little noize, the rest of the computer is still working and New World is not on “No Answer” mode. It’s really anoying with the queue atm…

Runing on an Acer Nitro with 16 GB memory, GTX 1660Ti.

I’ve cleared DXCache, verified game files, modified the memory allowed, nothing is working…

Anything that can help is welcome

Hi @Aeternaldk

Welcome to the New World forum, I’m really glad to see you are here at the forums and hope you can enjoy your time here and at the game as well!

I do apologies for this freezing your are having while playing.

In this case proceed to check updates on your GPU and on your Windows, try to adjust your game setting on low, too. Verify if other process are taking RAM from your PC while trying to play, and for last resource, uninstall and re-install the game may assist you.

There are multiple troubleshooting you can try for performace issues on the AGS support page, check it for more details.

Thank you for your patience. Wish you the best and a nice week. :octopus:

Hello !

Thank you for answering.
I’ve already done those things trying to improve the situation, but nothing change. I really dont know what to do, and i’ve never had this proble in almost 1k2 hours played. It’s only since the Fresh Start.

It keeps freezing and disconnecting me, putting me back in queue…

the freezbug is in the game since the brimstone update for me, idk if you played.

I have narrowed it down to the healing staff animation that for healing field that is the most likely cause, if you dont have people near you - you can play. avoid zergs etc. healing staff user = death

Thanks for your answer !

It happend to me everywhere, when i’m walking etc, so i don’t think it’s linked to the LS
And i crashed like 10 times in a row in The Depths

Have you noticed if this happens when you are grouping or not?

I’m sorry to hear this freeze issue is affecting so many players since the update.

If you have try all the troubleshootings listed on the support page without an improve, I will encourage you to contact AGS customer support to escalate and provide visibility on this issue; so the Dev team can start to fix this things.

Have the dxdiag ready, instructions for generating a DXdiag:

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Wish you the best and a nice week. :octopus:

Solo or grouped, doesn’t matter, it keep crashing.

@Kexxelon i’ve done it, waiting for a response.

The principal error line seems to be :
<2022-11-05 04:02:14.342>: [Info] (AZCore): [Rendering] Present failed, error code -2005270523. Attempting to recover…

I’m having a similar issue. I’ve got about 500hrs logged just fine from when i played at the start, came back for the fresh servers and it’s literally unplayable. Might get an hour, might get 5 seconds. I’ve gone through every checklist and more from the forums and it still crashes.

I found this in a forum @Kexxelon :

Aight fam so here’s a rundown of what I think is going on.
The error code -2005270523 (decimal) which is 0x887a0005 in Hexadecimal is an error from the operating system.
It decodes to this error.
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
0x887A0005
The GPU device instance has been suspended.
So the video card has “disappeared”. The most common reason for this is that the video card device driver crashed. You might find entries in the Windows Event log recording the crash.
Some video card crashes are also related to memory leak issues (low available RAM causes a crash are a long period of heavy load, but the real bug is a memory leak in the driver).
Video card device driver problems like this are also common. If you Google 0x887A0005, you’ll get 1000s of people reporting this error with various software.
Combining this with reports that other services and applications are killing the GPU with this error due to rendering time elongation means that this is possible here. The reason for this is that In order to prevent any rendering or GPU computation from locking up the system, the Windows operating system kills the GPU driver whenever a rendering takes more than a few seconds. When the driver is killed, the application using it crashes automatically. It is not possible to know how long a rendering task or a computation may take (it depends on the GPU, the drivers, the OS, the mesh size, the texture size, etc.), therefore it is not possible to put a limit on how much the computer should process and avoid the crash from the application level.
What that does to the card after the fact is beyond me, but people have made claims that it’s bricking their card.
All-in-all this means it’s not limited to only one card series, brand, generation, and not limited to just NW. If we see improvements it will most likely be with future driver updates and game patches. If a suggestion someone’s made works for you, GREAT! It won’t always work for everyone else. Be sure to keep sending logs, reading through everyone’s tips and suggestions, and keep posting till we get a fix.
With that, I wish you all the best, and with luck, I’ll see you in Aeternum!!!
NOTE: I AM NOT A TECH EXPERT. THIS IS MERELY MY FINDINGS WHILST SCOURING THE WEB LOOKING FOR OTHER REPORTS AND SOLUTIONS TO THIS ERROR!

Honestly that actually sounds pretty accurate, I was running OpenHardwareMonitor while watching for crashes and everytime my gpu would go from like 70% load to 0% instantly and the game would freeze.
Crazy thing is, ive got 500hrs played from launch and never had any issue like this. At least it might be something to look at.

Personally im running 2x1080gtx in SLI, i know NewWorld doesnt support SLI but 2nd card does take a good brunt of the memory load. I’ve tried it running with SLI and Single card too and i crash faster on single card.

Thanks for your research, looks like I wont be able to play New World until either new drivers / i can figure out a setting that doesnt crash me

Just to add something here, i just ran MSI afterburner and downclocked my power limit to 90% for my cards and its holding stable so far for the past 2hrs. Will keep an eye on and update if it carries on crashing.

i ve the same problem like this one…it’s pretty often now…but wht i find it weird is, my vga crashed right after i clicked play button on char selection…it’s like “hard landing” on loading page…idk wht it is…literally crashed 2 min ago…
problem stared about a week bfore brimstone if im not mistaken…it never happened after 3k hours…i think the prob goes to NW…as everything is just fine on other games and when i able to " pass: the loading page, everything is just fine even after playing for hours…
sorry for my broken english

Just slid the “power limit” down to 90. Just had a crash though, although i was playing for about 4hrs before this crash instead of 4seconds - 1minute. Gonna keep tweaking till i can just chill and play.

My power limit slider is grey, i can’t moove it

voltage and power sliders both grey?

Yes, i’m on laptop

EDIT: Not working for me, still crashing

Same bug here

Up !
Any suggestions ?
It’s been since the launch of the fresh servers, can’t play anymore cause i keep crashing (always on 1st boss genesis is one of the numerous cases)
