Same issue here. I have 19 items placed in my house right now. When I want to place another one or move an already placed one, the number of decorations placed rapidly increases to 84 or more and then the game freezes. After 10-20 seconds it unfreezes, shows the correct number of decorations placed and I can edit the house for a few seconds until the number of placed decorations again rapidly increases and then the game freezes. I can barely manage to do anything in the short time between the freezes, so I cant really use my house right now.
Yes I imagine it’ll be a while before this gets any attention.

Same problem! My house is in brightwood. EVERY item i put down freezes the game for about 2min. Then it comes back. Makes no sense…

I get the impression they want housing players to disappear until the next furnishing pack is for sale. Joke’s on them-- if I can’t place it, I’m not buying it.

Same issue with my 20k house in Everfall. The game freezes every single time I try to put any furniture down.
My counter is at 166/205(but I have only around 50 items placed).
Meanwhile, my 20k house in Cutlass keys never lags, and I have way more furniture there, and the counter is still lower than my Everfall one that’s almost empty due to all this freezing.

Same issue it started today. It probably started sooner, but today was the first day that I got new furniture to place. I used to decorate fine without any issues. Now there is constant freezing with the furniture count shooting up every 2 seconds. To the point that I can’t even walk around in the house out of decoration mode. I have to spam the exit key to get out before it freezes up again. Super frustrating since decorating is fun and the main point of having a house.

BUMP for this issue! Makes it nearly impossible to decorate my house…
I know there are some pretty critical bugs right now for devs to take care of, but please can we at least get this added to the known issues list?

Same issue. Decorating causing freezing for 20 sec at a time If I’m lucky, if not it’s a crash to desktop.

Yes, I agree. This is one of the issues that contributed to me setting the game aside for now. After having to perform two hard restarts on my PC because of my game freezing I started to worry it would eventually damage my PC.
Housing is one of the most important aspects of MMO’s for me and paying taxes when I can barely decorate my house seems pointless.
I know NW has bigger issues right now, but hopefully AGS will get around to looking at this one.

Bumping, same issue, did not have that problem the first few days I bought my house in Brightwood, feels like it started just after the latest patch, not sure. Will try to remove everything in my house, see if it’s a specific item causing the huge freezes.

Same here - only my number of items placed goes down instead of up. I’m at approximately 130 items, and it goes down to 25-30. The freezing & item count bug doesn’t happen every time I decorate. Haven’t been able to determine what’s causing it, will update if I find anything.
I am still having this issue too but i have found that it usually only occurs if there is an animated object in the area such as the fireplace, a pumpkin with lights, the floating candlestick, etc. If I decorate outside or in an area without those things it doesnt freeze as much. It may be coincidence but thought Id mention it.
I also have this issue. In a certain area of my house I freeze then come back, rinse and repeat when trying to place items.
Just want to add my voice here and say I also have this issue on 2 separate computers in the household. Very frustrating, I spent 20 minutes last night trying to rotate and place a chair.
