hey guys, i’ve had no issues playing the game since launch up until yesterday morning. 5 minutes since logging on yesterday morning i was hit with what i thought was a lag spike. but now i know its not lag. basically since yesterday morning ive been getting frequent and random screen freezes. the screen freezes but the sound is still playing fine as if nothing happened. checking my stats during this time it shows my GPU dropped its load all the way down to 0%, the screen freeze does not recover until the GPU load is back up. the CPU load drops from 55% to about 18% during this time, it also recovers when the screen freeze recovers.
this happens so often that i was only able to finish 3 side quests in the past few days (i play 4-6hrs a day usually so this is a very small amount of progress for 2 days for me). but had to spend about 1000 gold on repairs because of all the screen freeze deaths.
i have gone through many posts on this forum and found that there are quite a bit of other players with similar or same issues. im glad that i am not alone but frustrated that no one seems to have found a working fix for this. it does not make any sense either, i did not change any settings and upgrade any hardware/software since the game launched - and was able to play perfectly fine. why is this happening all of the sudden? does it have to do with any hotfixes or patches AGS put out? i can only suspect this because i have zero issues with any other major titles while playing on this same system.
has anyone with similar issues found a working fix? i hope there is a solution that i may use to solve my issue or that AGS comes up with a fix for these players who share this frustrating problem. the game is currently unplayable for me right now with this going on.
