Hehe yeah and that is 100% fair absolutely. you are not wrong at all for having that preference. But then you agree a PvP server just wouldn’t be your cup of tea.
but there are some of us out there who actually like all these things that you dont like. If we had a PvP server alternative I think everyone could be happy and we wouldn’t have so much hostility between the “pve and pvp” communities either.
Maybe you could actually get to grind in peace more with your 10% luck from PvP flagging since the culture on your server would be to not bother fellow farmers just out in their gathering gear since all the PvP hungry people would be on another server.
I just hope that we can one day reopen this topic with the devs and that they take us serious.
Have a great day you too man
yeah i have just returned, couple weeks ago now. checked out the maps… and wow most were primarily one color…
WoW just isnt a good comparison…
i do agree with something else you had mentioned earlier, about the openworld pvp making for some fun and meetin new people by calling for help or responding to it. the good old days.
Yeah this is because of the current war system being extremely bad. Unfortunately it is easy to exploit and per server you probably have less than 5% of the servers population that even try to participate in wars anymore. Most people just simply dont care about wars.
Dont let the color of the map lead you to think that those factions have the majority of players. Wars are only fought by 50 people and those same 50 people usually fight in every single war. Either for themselves or as hired mercenaries.
Because that’s a forum. We are all sharing our opinions and doubts. If you’d like watching only opinions that you would like then confirmation bias would hit whole new level
I have and will always continue, to “fight” for a pvp server in New World.
I may never like it, may never play it, but I will always cast my vote for those that want it.
PvP, Open World, is a fundimental part of the Faction process and being part of, seeing other videos, the feelings can be amazing when groups clash and mini wars happen. Such engagements are truly the stuff of legend, however, frustrations can kick in quickly and people can be soured by it also, which doesn’t help the cause, because it spills into DM’s, Discords / Forums / reddit and other social media, casting a bad light on it all.
Still… I support the cause. It really would be nice to see and maybe be part of a PvP server in this game.
pretty accurate i think.
will see if the changes they are making improve the wars/invasions. as in make it more accessible for a larger portion of the playerbase.
I really hope so. I miss fighting in wars since I think they are fun but I gave up on it many many months ago.
Open World PvP is the best experience.
I remember at the beginning of Aion.
I was getting ganked by rogue while questing, i was fighting for my life, and then died. Leveled UP a bit. And ganked everysingle person i cross. And then levelers cried in chat and a full squad coming to me. That was good old years.
But nowadays, people are carebears. They dont want pvp and have not interest in it.
+PVEr’s are terrible they can’t even think about why PvP players love a full Open World PvP experience.
Pressing U and seeing full of white name running next to you is not what i call a full Open World PvP
Dont play on the PvP server then dummy. Play on a regular one, nobody is forcing you to do anything.
i see you dont code.
The developer excuse that they’d have to maintain separate designs for a PvP server indicates that they’re not moving in a direction that prioritizes good PvP.
That is a post from 2019 and what they said is they didnt plan on splitting resources for this at launch. As we know this game didnt launch in a good state and there was a good reason for this decision.
3 years have passed since that comment was made. Now they may be open for it.
There is nothing different about the servers other than pvp toggle being disabled. That’s it.
Fresh start is coming which people used the same arguments for.
I am in no way against this idea, as stated by @Hiply above, if the request stops at “just turn on PvP when a faction is selected” and no more changes are asked for to cause a separate branch of the game, then I could even support it. But the more we dig into it, I see little things start to creep into the conversation.
Q: Ok, so force flag for factions only by removing the option to unflag?
A: Yes
Q: So anyone who chooses to not take a faction can play on this server as a PvE player?
A: Well… Ok, so force flag everyone at level 20 (we have now created a new branch of the game beyond the one “simple” change).
Q: Crafting will remain the same, with random PvE perks in the mix?
A: Well… we shouldn’t have to deal with so many random PvE perks on a PvP server (and the branch grows further from the tree).
Q: Umbral Shards will remain substantially locked behind PvE content? No PvP activity will grant as many shards at Mutations and the majority of the Gypsum drops will remain as they are, locked to PvE activity…
Q: Weapons balance will be balanced the same for all server types, meaning they will function the same in PvE and PvP, any imbalances created either would remain for the betterment of the game as a whole? (healers anyway?)
My issue is that no matter how “simple” this request is presented it will ultimately cause a branch in development and that will split development resources, with the ultimate impact being neither branch will get nearly the same amount of attention and the one branch we have now does.
So anyway, again if the devs choose to take this route, great, I hope it works out for you guys. But until that time comes, I am glad to see both sides representing themselves in this conversation, the last thing we need is an echo chamber existing to overinflate the desire of something beyond what reality is.

This is the big issue with pvp servers. Blizzard did nothing to keep factions balanced and now classic wow pvp servers are mostly 99/1 ratio.
If Amazon is going to do pvp servers, and I think they should. They NEED to implement some way to keep the factions balanced or it will end up a single faction server after a month or two.
What are you talking about?! There are no systems to prevent that. If i’m yellow and my whole server is green there is nothing keeping me from transferring to the yellow dominated servers. This is what happens. Note: You can’t change factions in WOW either, so you do it through transfers, which is what I am predicting will happen.
you’d be wrong
Still not an issue for them, as they still will think “ez fix”
Ok Keith.
YOU CAN SWITCH FACTIONS! and most companies do this frequently.
