Would it be possible to get a few of these going forward?
Maybe just a few always on PVP servers and a few PVE servers that have no PVP option. I know the PVP community would love some fresh start PVP servers where you are always flagged. I also know as a PVE player I would like a server with no PVP.
PVP is optional, sure, but it would be nice to have a place where global, trade, recruitment, and every other chat isn’t filled with toxic PVP nonsense all day long. Just a personal preference. Maybe territory control is won via other means such as earning influence by doing end-game activities, mutation scores, etc. There’s a lot of ways it could be done.
Either way I think you could make players that lean heavily one either side of the spectrum happy by doing this. You may even bring a decent chunk of players back!
Honestly just adding a few PVP always on servers would weed all the sweats out and put them in their happy place. I’d be fine with that. The main issues I have is I like to see and use the chat channels and generally what happens constantly is like…
Player A: Get farmed
Player B: Ya’ll bad
Plaver C: Yeah well expletive you, must suck to have to cheat to win
Player A: Imagine not being good at such an easy game 30 minutes later
arguing about that one event is over
Player D: WTS Bis [Gauntlet of something who cares] c/o 25k
Player E: Yo that is trash and you are trash
At the end of the day it’s just tiresome to see so much toxicity on a constant basis. Generally PVP breeds it so it’d be nice to let those people who like that kind of life have their own hole to live in.
The problem is todays “PVPer” does not want good fights so would not be interested in PVP servers. They want to gank 3 on 1 and fight noobs they know they can beat, you know, the guy who never PVP’s but turns it on when doing a resource run in order to get .00001% of luck.
I did come to NW for PvP but this game’s PvP is on the unhealtheir side. I can’t even call it competitive because there isn’t an ounce of sportsmanship in any of the toxicity that stems from wanting to flatten another player. Separation of PvE & PvP into servers would probably be a good thing but I would go 1 further and suggest adding 2 specialized servers per region calling them Corruption servers. These servers would be the true full loot pvp no holds bar. You die, lose it all. No safety in settlements, or anywhere. Let the people that want so badly to be at each others throats 100% of the time thrive in there.
And hopefully maybe finally ags separates PvE balancing from PvP balancing.
