Sad thing is many of us said repeatedly that AGS has done little to prepare for the FSS experience. Too few servers and no lessons learned from the original launch.
New World is not a serious effort at all. It is a test run for the next big AAA mmo attempt AGS will make.
I am sorry there is so much frustration out there but this is exactly what many have been saying would happen. Instead of tempered realistic expectations too many put on their rose colored glasses and refused to listen to sound reason.
AGS sorry but this soft relaunch will kill what little chance you had of winning the hearts and minds of current and past players.
a 2500 player limit on any server is that 2500 players are permitted to play the world all at once does not matter if they are all in the same area or not
I don’t think anyone is getting sent to the First Light starting area btw. So we have only two starting zones which is making queues even slower. Also what is the point of First Light nowadays?
There’s multiple additional servers on each region that have been spun up and also capped. US East is at 4 servers already before the 2pm one has even opened.
Sure, but as we all know from the way the initial launch worked, the game can’t handle the full capped load in the starting areas, so the cap is effectively lower than the full cap until people start spreading out of the starter areas.
None of this is new. It all happened with the initial launch.
They should add an in-game warning like they did once on PTR telling the people to leave the beaches. Ok people are leveling so it could just be something like “Please don’t take too long at the beach” anything that could speed up the queues would be welcome
I think for EU and US East, adding an extra server or two would have been a good idea, especially for EU, with that large queue of 10K+. It will probably level out a bit though.
This 100 percent. I quit playing shortly after launch because of the poor handling of server ques and transfers. The lack of foresight when they have already done this exact thing is alarming.
Are you all not surprised really? If you believe the queue / server mitigation was going to be amazing then I am sorry to burst your bubble. These Queues were bound to happen anyone the game simply cannot handle X amount of players within an area that is a lot of information that is being processed.
Just makes it really hard to play with a group. Some of us got in but obviously some one be able to log in until later, and the server halts creation within 30 mins of the server opening.
You are right, but we can still be unhappy about it. I think they should have more starting zones, the map is big enough, have 4 instead of 2, that theoretically would half the Q times.
