Budget = everything. Maintaining servers eats budget which could go to hiring more developers.
You are not making any sense. If they need the servers, why not fresh start? Or are you saying you want a small dwindling population to be the norm?
I never said it would be easy to maintain, just said it wouldn’t take any more development time to implement. They have already shown that they can merge and spin up new servers pretty quickly, they have shown us they can lock servers just as quickly. So the statements made above that hint at or say that its a waste of development time are just not factual. The team that would be maintaining the servers are different than the development team, so how is it a waste of development time when it wouldn’t really involve any developers?
Because it involves budget. Which goes to maintaining an extra server for a few whiney players instead of hiring more developers to work on content for everyone.

Game does not have a dwindling population lol, right now has 43k players on steam charts which is more than a sustainable population. I find it laughable you think the fresh start crowd is needed to ‘save’ the game. Even without fresh start servers, Brimstone will bring in alot of players.
He doesnt believe anything other than he needs to argue his point.
The people who benefit the most are gold sellers because they will get an isolated group of morons who dont know how to make gold.
If i were a gold seller i would be SPAMMING for fresh start servers. And i would do it in the rattiest way possible because its real world money.

I am sure a few extra servers does nothing to their budget. I hear they have a good server company they work with.

Yes, BSS will keep folks here for a bit, and even bring in new/returning players…who are asking and liking the idea of a fresh start. Why do you have a problem with it?
How many servers did they have at launch?

Maybe for 2 weeks, but then they should be opened.
Just look at Nysa, the queues are unbearable. The playerbase needs to spread on more servers. Locked servers are a smack in the face to everyone who played on a now full server.
Jesus christ you’re the one who said the PvP in this game is awesome in the first place, now you’re saying the PvP has never been awesome? It would seem you’re the one who have very low standards then.
Read up your replies to this thread, you’re just contradicting yourself and just can’t accept the fact that fresh start servers is only for feeding ego and a waste of resource.

And you will still tell us how to play games. Cose your way to play is best ? And about streamers be happy they exist with fresh start they will bring more money to develope game further. We get fresh start you get more content in future WIN/WIN for every one.
I really don’t understand that excuse of “they could use the ressources elsewhere”, like, what resources are we talking about? It’s opening new servers and locking transfers, they just opened 3 new servers, so where exactly is this afecting resources? And costs? Well, I would suppose that given that the servers belong to amazon… you know…
So yeah, me and a bunch of friends that played at the beginning and stopped because of the state of the game at that time are quite hyped of this new fresh start servers and we are waiting for them to come back to give it a try. And I believe a lot of people (even the majority of the current returning players who are checking the latest updates) are on the same mindset.
It’s quite simple: The current player spike will test the new update and will surely leave after a while. New fresh starters, on a locked server will stay a lot longer as it seems the experienced has improved for it to be 2 different games at this point compared to the first months.
To end, a fresh start lcoked server would actually be beneficial to legacy servers, if the case where the majority of the returning players leave, well, it won’t impact legacy servers at all, because you know, they are on another server. On top of that, those new servers, if they become empty they might be merged to legacy servers after a while, so a couple more players to your dead legacy server, win-win.

The idea of a fresh start server is the only thing that interests me to come back. I have a level 60, but I stopped playing the game for a reason. I have no interest in playing in a server that has festered since the buggy beginning. I have been messing around on the PTR the last week after I heard there could be fresh start servers coming. It seems they have made a good deal of improvements. A fresh start server with no transfers ever is the only reason I will make a new permanent character.
