UPDATE: Out of the blue, no relog, after doing a couple of the main quests (I had done the trader/inn/storage quests before both finding this bug, and posting about it. ) I can now access storage. This was in MB, though I do not know if that matters at all.

Had the same issue. I “fixed” it by placing a buy order in the town I was in and waiting for it to be filled. Now I can access my storage. Hope this helps you.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Walk up to storage, open it and witness no storage menu to swap items between inventory and storage.

Issue: As OP stated, going up to a storage shed and pressing E simply opens my own inventory. I’ve left town and came back, relogged, same issue. It did not do this when I did the introductory quest that leads you to it, the trade post, etc.
Is this a bug?: I would think so
How does this affect gameplay: Literally not being able to store stuff to use later if I want to craft is pretty significant in my book
Able to recover: No
When did this happen: Nov 6, ~6 PM EST (roughly 20 mins prior to this reply)
UPDATE: Logged back in about 30 mins ago and the issue was no longer present. I figure it’s server load related or such.
workaround
arter pressing E and only getting inventory, clck one of the little arrows above a section to store all the items and it will work, and open storage at the same time.
