Reading that so frequently from people as the primary reason why they don‘t want to join the already established servers. They honestly think that people that are dominating the game right now only do so because of exploits during the launch period. Puzzling to say the least.
People just don‘t know what they‘re asking for and sheeps keep joining in as a part of the herd mentality not even understanding why they would want fresh start servers in the first place. The expectations are just unrealistic and I think people will find out sooner than later.
Man, fresh start servers should have been the last selling point of this game after improving the game. There are still things left to improve and fresh servers could make or break the game again.
As many pointed out, bots will thrive, no question about that. Returning players will join these servers just to realize lvl-ing is still boring after a certain level and there are still issues with the game, especially in PVP.
Old players will join, have a good experience for a couple of weeks and be burned out from hard pushing levels and farming.
I don’t know, I still think they need to balance weapons/armor and limit trade skills to 3-4 per character. If everyone can level up every trade skill, it’s going to be the same as it was in the second month: Multiple players camping the same resource nodes, prices going all over the place, company players rotating daily crafts because they can afford it and premades dominating OPR and arena
Don’t even get me started with all content creators making guides again on how to get x trading skill to 200 the fastest way, how to farm x gold/h the best, how to get x resource faster, etc. While content creators are bringing people in, they also remove the magic from the game…but there’s nothing AGS can do about this, so it is what it is
They did mention company income will be looked into, so I guess that’s a start
I’m glad I’m reading some common sense on Thoses forums. Anyways , any actual NW players know this server won’t even make 2-3 weeks. People REALLY underestimate the grind you put into your character and have some pink glasses about how EVERYTHING was hype and cool the first couple weeks. ( I’m putting them with the same category of pvp server ) just flag up and go fight fort , there is always world pvp not sure what Thoses guyz are smoking lol
You forgot to mention since it’s a potato server with no economy only wallet warriors and sweaty neckbeards will afford to establish their crafts with trophies to 200 and could quite literally gear lock newbs until they have total server domination
Yes really, bots take time to grind there skills up, accumulate supplies to then sell on the trade post that is dependent on player wealth, which would be greatly reduced on a fresh server. Have you played this game before? This is also an irrelevant point since the bots are on every server, one of the most ignorant comments I’ve seen on these threads.
If 95% of the player base left the game a few months after launch because of content creators, that would be an amazing power these content creators have. I’m sure your feelings disagree with reality, but it is laughable that you think 900k+ decided to spend 40 bucks then leave the game after a few months because some streamer said so, and not because the game released unfinished. I feel sorry for you champ
I don’t think you’re too familiar with how virtual currency value varies on supply and demand.
It doesn’t really take much to make decent real world currency, with a new economy.
Obviously bots are on the current game, and they’ll be just as popular, if not more, on a fresh economy.
Also not really talking about just bots being gold farmers. Several methods, without bots, are used by gold farmers. Don’t really think you actively pay attention to what’s going on around you, while you play. Assuming you even actively still play the game…
Also, obviously the 900k people didn’t only stop playing due to content creators stopping. BUT a lot of “fanboys” do actively play what their favorite content creator plays.
Why do you think so many game studios will pay streamers, and youtubers, to play their game. Why content creators are often invited to the actual game studio to play it in house, during development.
Wondering why wasting resources on fresh start servers while game is not even one year old.
When a game aged a bit and everything is running smooth and the balance is fine then i would understand but not like this.
All resources should be focused on the current servers and fixing performance and bugs in the current version.
Even adding a new OPR map would be more worth than wasting resources on fresh start servers.
Also adding 10 vs 10 Arenas would be great but well…
From my perspective as en ex player being on a server in a guild/company owning EF and WW and some other territory. The biggest problem for me was the guild didn’t share the war spoiles with their war rooster players (atleast not to a majority), but later on I found out top management with shell companies was the bigges gold RMT seller. Not duppers, boters, etc but our company top management. So no the boters, dupers didn’t ruined the econmy that much as the companies owning EF/WF. I am 100% against any kind of RMT, hacking cheating, etc. As I checked all the top companies in that era with best players none play the game anymore. So some people talking about returning players won’t achive 60 is plain BS. As I see it all hardcore players left the game who dominated the servers way back.
For me to come back to this game is they need to change only two things in this game territory money rework. This needs to be nerfed BIG. But even not getting a dime from a guild (pots, food for wars only) I managed to get almost all bis leggos and be capped without cheating, hacking, rmt and getting any sort of money from the guild. I hope expertise system is beeter now who thought endgame will be runing in circle and opening chest. Worst mechanic ever.
So I am 100% for a fresh servers when they fix territory owning legal “money exploits”. If you don’t like it play on your existing servers. I don’t see why you need to advocate against fresh servers which will bring new players and old players back. Boters and dupers ain’t even a huge problems when you have this kind of legal mechanics in the game. So I don’t get it what you talking about. And I am not delusional in every MMO I played they will be cheaters, dupers, boters. Atleast this players gets punished.
As a returning player, even if I made a character on Fae some days ago, even I am thinking of abandoning that work if they open a completely fresh server up
Hello @Alison, the information they are taking this from is from a post on another thread. Fresh Start server? - #142 by Luxendra. More information will be released in the coming weeks of course.
If it drops with Brimstone it will be empty by Christmas time is my estimate - roughly 2 months or less.
It should take any long time players about a week or two to be 60 and in full faction gear just steam rolling the azoth right out of these freshies and then its all down hill from there.
I agree, no real reason to cave to the hype followers who will swarm like locusts and then leave just as quickly. I keep saying the same thing you are and kept getting told to “Shut up” and “let people enjoy it”. These people are not here for discourse, but only to cry and whine until they get their way.
There’s going to a lot of videos and streamers pushing these fresh start servers so there will be a big increase in players. But it’s all a flash in the pan.
If there are no fresh start only servers then EVERY server will feel like launch day due to new players spreading out and going wherever.
If the only argument is the climate of open world pvp then I’m not sorry, opening fresh start servers just so you guys can enjoy the one to two week period where open world pvp is chaos is selfish. For everything else, all current servers will feel fresh when all the new blood evenly spreads out to them when the new patch hits.
You do realize they are not really wasting resources right? They will just be rolling out a new server with transfers disabled. Not sure how this is so confusing. I am also fairly certain that it is a separate team that manages servers, not a development/design team. I could be wrong though, happens once in awhile.
Not sure why folks are so vocally against it. It is good for the game for so many reasons, even if the idea fails and they have to close those servers down, it is good for your server. Think about it…unless you think any server can sustain a healthy population of 1200-1800 players for an extended period of time? Let me know if you need help, always here.
All new players will be pointed to fresh start servers. Non-fresh start servers will get vastly limited new blood. I’d love to see a lot of new players running around on my server too.
Let me know if you need help too, since you seem to fail to understand that while something can release and be separated from something, it will affects others indirectly.
