From my perspective as en ex player being on a server in a guild/company owning EF and WW and some other territory. The biggest problem for me was the guild didn’t share the war spoiles with their war rooster players (atleast not to a majority), but later on I found out top management with shell companies was the bigges gold RMT seller. Not duppers, boters, etc but our company top management. So no the boters, dupers didn’t ruined the econmy that much as the companies owning EF/WF. I am 100% against any kind of RMT, hacking cheating, etc. As I checked all the top companies in that era with best players none play the game anymore. So some people talking about returning players won’t achive 60 is plain BS. As I see it all hardcore players left the game who dominated the servers way back.
For me to come back to this game is they need to change only two things in this game territory money rework. This needs to be nerfed BIG. But even not getting a dime from a guild (pots, food for wars only) I managed to get almost all bis leggos and be capped without cheating, hacking, rmt and getting any sort of money from the guild. I hope expertise system is beeter now who thought endgame will be runing in circle and opening chest. Worst mechanic ever.
So I am 100% for a fresh servers when they fix territory owning legal “money exploits”. If you don’t like it play on your existing servers. I don’t see why you need to advocate against fresh servers which will bring new players and old players back. Boters and dupers ain’t even a huge problems when you have this kind of legal mechanics in the game. So I don’t get it what you talking about. And I am not delusional in every MMO I played they will be cheaters, dupers, boters. Atleast this players gets punished.
As a returning player, even if I made a character on Fae some days ago, even I am thinking of abandoning that work if they open a completely fresh server up
Hello @Alison, the information they are taking this from is from a post on another thread. Fresh Start server? - #142 by Luxendra. More information will be released in the coming weeks of course.
If it drops with Brimstone it will be empty by Christmas time is my estimate - roughly 2 months or less.
It should take any long time players about a week or two to be 60 and in full faction gear just steam rolling the azoth right out of these freshies and then its all down hill from there.
I agree, no real reason to cave to the hype followers who will swarm like locusts and then leave just as quickly. I keep saying the same thing you are and kept getting told to “Shut up” and “let people enjoy it”. These people are not here for discourse, but only to cry and whine until they get their way.
There’s going to a lot of videos and streamers pushing these fresh start servers so there will be a big increase in players. But it’s all a flash in the pan.
If there are no fresh start only servers then EVERY server will feel like launch day due to new players spreading out and going wherever.
If the only argument is the climate of open world pvp then I’m not sorry, opening fresh start servers just so you guys can enjoy the one to two week period where open world pvp is chaos is selfish. For everything else, all current servers will feel fresh when all the new blood evenly spreads out to them when the new patch hits.
You do realize they are not really wasting resources right? They will just be rolling out a new server with transfers disabled. Not sure how this is so confusing. I am also fairly certain that it is a separate team that manages servers, not a development/design team. I could be wrong though, happens once in awhile.
Not sure why folks are so vocally against it. It is good for the game for so many reasons, even if the idea fails and they have to close those servers down, it is good for your server. Think about it…unless you think any server can sustain a healthy population of 1200-1800 players for an extended period of time? Let me know if you need help, always here.
All new players will be pointed to fresh start servers. Non-fresh start servers will get vastly limited new blood. I’d love to see a lot of new players running around on my server too.
Let me know if you need help too, since you seem to fail to understand that while something can release and be separated from something, it will affects others indirectly.
The servers we have right now will miss players when fresh start servers go live. If you really think that it will be only new players playing on that fresh start servers then i can tell you thats not the case either.
I realy dont understand why fresh start server are a thing in a game that is not even one year old.
The game didnt even receive its big major update yet since it was released. Brimstone will be the first realy big one.
If people want to experience the game like it was at release date you can just create a new character and enjoy it the way you want on your current server. Most players will be lvl 60 on fresh start servers within a week anyway.
There will be always companies owning the major cities receiving milions of gold every week also.
Fresh start servers might be hyped for a month but for sure not longer.
You cant repeat what WoW did with classic since the game was out for many years and had a lot of expansions during that time.
Anyways i just hope they dont release fresh start servers at the same time as brimstone goes live because that will just split the playerbase.
I mean at least it would be one way to make sure old servers dont have such a long queue.
So what your saying is, a lot of players want fresh servers, even current players, but not me so they should not do it to attract new/returning players.
