One - No reason to pvp other than wars, which as you will see below, didn’t benefit me as a multi-hour a day player because I wasn’t involved with the 4-5 people in the “core” group of leadership and I joined the game AFTER all the gold dupes. With the changes to Gearscore, my 520 faction gear I was grinding my ass off to get, now worthless had the side effect of also nerfing the BIGGEST reason I loved NW, the viability of having multiple builds as needed. Now each Build to be even remotely viable with these new GS Creep will take me months. This is a huge problem. You are sorta on the road to at least fixing the rewards for pvp’rs… but because this happened so late and you compounded the other issue further which led to…
Reason Two: The economy is done. Before the last round of merges my old company leadership circle had MILLIONS of gold worth of liquid assets and hard gold, Majority were already 600gs, with multiple suits for different builds. Most used that liquidity to get their crafts and refinements to 200, they have full trophy sets, 3 houses, tons of rare recipes…
and they paid the war players of the company 1k-2k a week in gold.
That was with JUST having a couple of territories one of which was Windsward.
What I would like to see happen:
Once the reward system is fleshed out, and the patch with OPR changes, movement changes, and balancing coming, WE NEED NEW FRESH START SERVERS. If this were to happen, it would allow me to play the game how I wanted to when I first heard about New World, which was progression based on pvp… and on top of that, everyone would be at the same starting place.
No more wealth ruining the markets generated by wars that were had when the player base was sub 300 allowing one or two companies to garner asinine amounts of wealth, or generated through the dupe phase of patches, we need the great reset to come to the game, and let those who want to stay on their old servers stay. Give those of us who didn’t partake in any of the BS tactics to gather resources start on a server that isn’t plagued with the history of exploitation.
Pretty sure Classic WoW just announced something of this ilk which at least suggests the idea has a good deal of traction.
I think at the least fresh start servers wouldn’t be a bad idea. People might really appreciate a server where no gold duping or the like has ever taken place.
The only difference is Pay to win ran off the playerbase from Archeage. The dev teams incompetence and lack of understanding how to actually balance a game without introducing 500 new bugs killed New World. Not sure your “burn” was that much of a burn. Both games had great potential ruined by dumb out of touch decisions.
Suffering a playerbase smaller than Runescape, maybe New World should be taking notes from other games-- they certainly aren’t taking any of their players, at this rate. :x
I think it would be too early to launch fresh servers. They should fix several things in NW first. Very important for me: Bots. I dont want to see a single bot on new servers. It needs GMs on these servers, the tax system must be changed (taxes should be forced to spend on cities infrastructure only).
And loads of other things.
Maybe offer fresh servers at the end of the year. Most players left, but many will come back, when NW is ready. Maybe…
I believe the latest video informed us that we would be seeing in game GMs (with a GM tag) and their purpose would be some secret method of bot bashing in real time
Yeah fresh start server that never allows transfers. Would be a welcoming sight for new and low geared players. The only ones who stand to lose something from such. Are those established players who used every dirty trick in the book. In order to obtain their power. They will end up having fewer targets to lord their ill-gotten-gains over.

I feel like this post was click bait. I thought the request for brand new servers for the new players. Not purging of the current ones. Sad times.
