Friday Suggestions to fix this game

  • Create a new PVP MAP shared with all the servers. (Like WvW in GW2, or Ettenmoors in Lotro)

  • If adding raids and PVP MAP ever becomes real, Add the role of “Raid Leader” In WvW GW2 they were called “Commanders”. They had special habilities. Like drawing in the map. Performing readychecks or shouting messages to the whole raid.

  • Create Guild halls.

  • Delete WARS, Invasions & Castles in the open World. I don’t like the implementation. I don’t like the castles. I don’t like the goals. I don’t like they to be scheduled. Delete them ASAP.

  • FIX basic and heavy attacks preventing to use skills & consumables.

  • Add a wardrobe for easily switch between gear sets. And make it scalable. 'Cause there are many gears sets I will need. Fishing, tanking, healing, dps mage, dps heavy, gathering sets, crafting professions sets, luck, etc… We need a way to save organized presets of gear sets and Isolate those items from the inventory & vaults. I insist. It must be an scalable enough system.

  • Add Raid Frames UI. In Lotro raids were groups of groups. And you were able to create raids up to 24 members. I suggest the same for New World.

  • Add those Raid frames to OPR and disable groups there.

  • Add PVE Raids content (guilds without PVE Raids doens’t even make sense). Extend the looking for group tool to raids for instances. New world will never be a serious MMO without raids.

  • Add Arenas for 1, 2 persons.

  • Add Arenas with more than one boss. One after the other, with better reward as you progress. Maybe not exactly what I’m suggesting. The point is… Get creative with Arenas.

  • Fix Sacred Ground, if you’re hit while using the skill. The pool doesn’t appear, doesn’t heal. Because it’s not really used. But the cooldown counter starts. This can lead to wipes.

  • Rethink how crafting works. Recipes should always be listed in the UI. Whether you have the required artifact or not. It’s annoying as fuck to have to get an special item (artifacts) for them to show in the list of the crafting station. Now every player have to keep track of what items let you craft x or y. It’s annoying as fuck. I shouldn’t have to know every item and every recipe. That must not depend on every player. Not our responsablity. The game should always be showing us what are all of the available recipes, and what items do we need. Or if we learned that recipe at the crafting station.

  • Let us customize appearance of the player (hair, eye color, face etc)

  • Add a black dye. Grey dyes sucks.

  • Instead of nerfing weapons & builds and making everyone upset. Rise max health and then balance. Damage spikes are simply too high. Ridiculosly high for the health people usually have. Crowd controls, stuns and bashes are excesive. Encounters tends to be short and not fun at all.

  • Add autoloot setting

  • Add autoattack toggle for basic attacks

  • Add Follow feature to automatically follow any group member. Lotro had this and it was a pleasure to follow some player. It let you rest from using keyboard / mouse. Specially for long distances. If you’re like me that I mainly play with my bro. Then you’ll probably like this.

  • Add mounts. It’s literally the first MMO that I played in >20 years that doesn’t have mounts.

I don’t really care if any of these things are implemented in 2023. But Do it.

You had me at hello. :heart_eyes: I hope Brimstone Sands has some sort of citadel or rotating PvP zone deal going on. Forts have been atrocious and 30 minute, scheduled PvP session via wars are not really doing it anymore. Factions also NEED TO MATTER. The bandwagon boys can do whatever they want, but give the peeps who want to be underdogs some bonuses like GW2 has and promote some sort of accolade for remaining LOYAL TO YOUR COLORS. :triumph: Everything else you listed is a must have, too!

I really like what I see here, and it would be great to see 99% of it asap. The only thing I’m not sure of my opinion on is war. Sorry, I’m still a newb.

The most important thing would be to fix basic and heavy attacks preventing to use skills & consumables. WHY I must stop hitting with basic attacks for a second or even almost two seconds when I click an available skill (without cooldown or states) for it to activate ?! They take ages to activate. The same happens with the consumables. This directly affects the combat control, gameplay and the user experience in a very very very BAD way. This alone ruins the game. Seriously. I can’t stress it enough. This alone completely ruins the combat & the gameplay. Most of the time I don’t play against other players, I’m playing against the game and it’s odd skill behaviours.

Weapons swap, at least while using the keybinding swap toggle is also too slow. And it feels sticky. When you swap your weapon it feels like it sticks for a second or two before you can swap your weapon again.

Skill activations and weapons swapping MUST be lightning fast without the sticky feeling.

I hope devs read this. And take action.

Other than that, the wardrobe/loadout system. Fixing Sacred ground skill, because it is BUGGED the way I said above in the original post. And adding Raid Frames would be my preference.

Most suggestions here are described best by WoW developer answer: “You think you do, but you don’t”

  • Delete wars ? no, The need to be reworked at best, but not removed. NW already has problem with endgame content and just simply removing it would be an mistake. Solution, just don’t play those activities.
  • FIX basic and heavy attacks? How do you know its not game mechanic. Should potion cancel attacks? should attacks cancel consumables? Should consumables be stack and be used right after attack preventing an new attack?
  • Wardrobe +
  • Raids still +
  • Raids at OPR, even better +
  • PVE Raids are awesome +
  • Arenas for 1v1 and 2v2? not sure if every number needs an separate queue. Perhaps 1v1 for and we will see how it goes with ranking. 2v2 is an overkill, if 2v2 why not 4v4 or 7v7?
  • Aaaah the sacred ground… probably most OP skill. This can lead to wipes but are you sure its a bug or should spell casting be disturbed. Balancing question.
  • Crafting rework +
  • Appearance +
  • Black is cool, we wants! +
  • More HP? not sure about that. Not sure giving every class more HP is solution to every problem.
  • Autoloot +
  • Autoattack toggle? Not so sure about, not every weapon is for light attacks spam. Sounds simple but it isn’t with so many different weapons. Bonus point: Bots would cheer, even easier.
  • Mounts? No, hundreds of topics explaining why mounts don’t fit into this world at current state and no its not the first MMO not having mounts.

I wanted to emphasize how much I dislike the way they implemented that. I was also thinking that the PVP map should already have these kind of things… That’s why I said DELETE them. Because they’ve implemented siegues in a very, very bad way.

I’m completely sure it’s a bug. Because if this was intentional. That would be completely stupid. And, I know It’s also happening to other healers. I’ve noted this bug because other healer told me it was bugged. Then I checked and… Damn it.

It’s a handy feature to have in open world PVE as solo player / two member groups.

While I may agree. I think it would be cool to have mounts. But as @Ehdhen noted. Developing this would be a waste of dev time. Implementing PVE Raids would be much better than having mounts.

Yeah, PVE Raids. I will not consider New World a serious MMO till they don’t implement Raid UI, Raid PVE Content

Good sugestions overall. I dont agree with removing wars, maybe a rework like shifting wars to company vs company instead factions would improve it. And mounts are meh, they already made the teleport cheap and that was an huge improvement. Right now would be a waste of dev time, they should be focusing in more important things.

I don’t like the idea of making PVP, guild dependent, NO. I really hate this idea.
It MUST be based on factions.
Because, guilds can be disbanded. Factions can’t.
Because guilds can be nests for small dictators.
Nah, PVP must be guild independent. And faction dependent.

I don’t like how they implemented the capture points mechanic of wars. I don’t like wars to be scheduled. I don’t like that each war is only one castle and a single siegue. The whole system is too archaic, with too many constraints, and this completely ruins the experience. WARS should be dynamic, and ever going. That’s the kind of thing we would have in a DEDICATED PVP MAP with multiple castles for each faction, then each faction 24/7 fighting to conquer the territories / forts. But no… They implemented it, the wrong way.

They should do a shameless copy of GW2 WvW PvP.
