Got home at 4pm EST all servers locked. Which makes no sense. Why not let people create characters and get into the queue? I really don’t understand the thinking.

Probably to try to minimize the Que. but still it’s dumb. Can’t play with friends I guess.

But that makes no sense. If you cannot get into the queue you cannot get into the game period. So if you have 4 (doesn’t matter how many) fresh start servers and they are all locked you have absolutely NO WAY to play on any of them period.

Hey man your asking the wrong guy. I’m in the same boat as you, a lot of my friends on got yonas, and it’s locked now. I have another group going to ennead Because yonas is locked. I would t be surprised by the time I get home, that one is locked too.
Yah was gonna jump back into New World and stream on a freshy fresh server but now I just feel like going to play something else.
Just play on a normal server. Both servers have the same patch.
No because the economy is not new. Are you new to the MMO magic of Fresh Realms?

Ah now you choose to insult me over my name. I’ve acquired up to 2 million gold at one point. It’s very manageable to get Rich on regular servers. All the hardcore sweats are already probably half way to 60 by now if not more on fresh starts. Literally nothing will change. Everything is going to be more expensive on fresh starts rather than live because there hasn’t been a year of of economic growth and also these players know what items are worth on live and will know someone will buy something At inflated price just to have it quickly. The demand for everything is going to be significantly higher than live. Things will be scarce again, no one will have any trophies, no one will have bis, and thus the sky rocketing of prices. Just like a year ago. Just because this time there isn’t any dupes doesn’t mean prices won’t be high. Good luck. At launch companies used to infest gold into specific people to get crafting up so the “company had crafters”. People know this and they know either individuals or companies will pay, and pay a lot. I mean for goodness sake , back at launch health pots used to be super expensive. Now they are dirt cheap.

Same exact thing happened to me, my entire guild rolled on Amarah fresh and since i couldn’t play right away it’s locked. Guess i won’t play until i can make a character with my friends / guild. It actually sucks not going to lie.
Yeah, +1 here. It’s pretty unfortunate and I’m not going to go play solo on some other server. They should really have a friend invite system where your friend could help you get into the locked server. I believe FFXIV had something like that, though I’m sure people would just start selling invites or some dumb stuff like that.
Seems like a big middle finger from his friends and not the devs.
They could’ve waited for everyone to log on together, but they didn’t. That’s not the fault of the devs.

That comment makes no sense, we are a group of 50+ and half of us have lives, its not a middlefinger from friends its a middlefinger from the devs, let people play together thats one big reason why the first nw launch sucked ass, people couldnt play with their friend.

Servers will periodically lock and unlock depending on the player volume. It is to direct traffic, you aren’t permanently locked out.
The servers have a fixed capacity so they cannot let everyone in at the same time. We can complain about how small the server cap is, but it won’t change the fact that the cap is there.
I’m sure all 50 of you are smart enough to know that the fresh start servers would have massive queues. You should have also known that there was a possibility of servers being locked since you know what happened at launch, so you should have planned properly if you all wanted to play together.
If half of your “friends” chose to jump into a server while the rest were busy with other stuff, that’s something you need to discuss with your friends, not the devs.
If all 13,500 people that were in the que for the same server yesterday could fit, i’m sure they would. But they can’t.
It’s a square peg through a round hole situation. Not everyone can fit into the same server, it’s like trying to shove 20 people into a 7 seater van. there are reasons why, and none of them involve the devs being meanies that just don’t want people to play together.
People are upset, don’t understand why they can’t get in the server. It’s okay to be upset, but we can all grow from the experience try to minimize the impact and move forward.
I played for like 3 hours and got to 31. The leveling process really is much faster.
well were not complaining with fitting were complaining about the people not able to create character, let them create a character and stay in q atleast if they are patient they can wait and eventualy play with their friend. they could atleast let people know WHEN they will re open character creation so people can judge if its worth the wait, or no.
