From 100% PvE Player: Please, give hardcore PvP players their own server(s)!

As a PvE player with ZERO interest in PvP, I would totally be happy if hardcore PvP’ers got their own servers. 100 percent. I’m all for it. There are so many people playing the game now that I think any balance issues could be easily worked out.

I see quite a few posts from hardcore PvP’ers wanting to force PvE players by varying means…all PvP maps, etc…to PvP. The game allows for both types of players to play how they want with an easy to use flagging system. However, hardcore PvP players never seem to be happy that others aren’t joining in PvP play, and want the dev’s to force them to, even though they have absolutely no desire to do so. I see this same self-centered argument over & over again, just stated differently, across the forums. Any validity these topics have, would be gone, since said player(s) could transfer to newly created PvP servers if they are not happy with how PvP is being implemented on standard servers in the current actual hybrid game that we have today vs. the mythical PvP version that was the possible game two years ago, one year ago, etc…

To answer a continual misconception I see in responses to this type of post, I’ll say right now that PvEer’s such a myself are NOT scared of PvP, we just don’t like to spend our gaming hours doing this type of play. Just in my small company alone, there are a few of us who are former infantry irl, and to think your little fake pixels shooting at us are scaring us or deterring us from that sort of gameplay is, in point of fact, utter nonsense. We would just rather run dungeons, raids, craft, harvest, fish, or RP while talking with our other buddies about the day or whatever over Discord, etc… We do not care one little bit about your PvP world, and have no desire to be involved in it. Zero. We do enjoy our world quite a bit, though. So, stay the hell in your lane, and stop trying to mess up other peoples’ game play enjoyment for the sake of your fragile egos.

It would honestly be great and no worries to me at all if hardcore PvP’ers had servers where they could play however they wanted, and, then, the rest of us could finally stop listening to the relentless whining from this part of the PvP community. I totally get that it’s not the entire PvP community, but a certain subset. You could PK other people all day long, and then complain about PvP scaling when you get Pk’d! You could complain about the imbalance of certain weapons that someone had when they killed you, and argue how your own OP weapon is actually not OP! You could argue over “the meta,” and force yourselves into cookie cutter builds in the hopes you kill the other dude/dudette in one of the other meta’s! Then, you could collectively gripe when the meta changes. You could get into groups for open world PvP with your buddies and jump single players all day long, and congratulate each other on how great of PvPer’s you all are! Then, the next day you could post a giant rant in the forums about unfairness after you’re out harvesting & you get jumped by a group of PvPer’s out doing the same thing. The one dev they assigned for this crapo job could focus on constantly implementing those weapon & gear changes to only your servers that you consistently clamor for to make yourself a truly competitive PvP player, even though truly good PvPers could probably kill the majority of you with a broken level 1 wooden spoon they found in a supply crate on the noobie beach! You know the one…it’s by that pirate that is passed out! Then, the rest of the community wouldn’t have to deal with those constant changes to perfectly good weapons & gear on our servers. You could spend a ton of the time you could be out PvPing harvesting, leveling crafts, and crafting your own gear & consumables without any PvE crafting support.

After all that fun, when your servers become wastelands, as quite a bit of actual data shows about purely PvP multiplayer games, you would NOT be allowed to transfer back to standard servers; because, we definitely don’t want to have to listen to the cycle of whining start all over again, as you leech off these healthy servers while at the same time bemoaning the universal glory of full loot, full destruction, full ego, full of shit, hardcore PvP servers. Most of you will never have to deal with that outcome though, because, according to a number of other forum posts, you are quitting today, tomorrow, or when the next new shiny toy pops up in Steam anyway

So, yes Dev’s please do us all a favor, and make purely hardcore PvP servers with NO option for those accounts that transfer to said servers to ever come back to standard servers.

For someone who says he doesn’t care, you sure did spend some words on your fantasy of failed PvP servers. In any case, yes please to PvP servers.

This would have been better titled “how to bring a quick death to New World”.

Hmm not really, PvP servers would be the minority initially since the normal servers are still running simultaneously nothing is really gained or losses. It’s just a shift in player population

Now for MMOs this can be true but the most popular games are definitely purely PvP. Games like LoL, Dota 2, CS:GO, Fortnite, Apex, Garena, CoD etcetc are definitely really popular and are purely PvP.

The thing that sets them apart though is that your progress is wiped or soft wiped with every game you play. In an MMO, most of your progress stays.

Giving PvP servers would imply that non-PvP servers are not pvp servers. It would vastly split the community as well as causing people to quit the whole game when the PvP server isn’t giving them the intended results.

It would hurt the game immeasurably. Just like ranked arenas or any other hardcore PvP elements would.

LOL you’re not bad, I didn’t realise at first that you were being ironic

8/10 for the troll

9/10 for the effort

1/10 for the subject content thoug :stuck_out_tongue:

^but I wouldn’t waste time discussing the topic seriously on such a post

You don’t understand harcore PvPers. They don’t want their own server. They want Amazon to force you to PvP with them so they can kill you.

what makes me laugh is that the game was originally a full pvp and hardly any pve player game, all the pver’s jumped in on the alpha / beta and cried there wasnt anything for them to do so amazon changed it and now that theres hardly any pvp other than wars of course the pvp people want to force it.

They wouldn’t have half the amount of players they do now if they didn’t change it. It would have just been another “PVP MMORPG” game that nobody cared to keep playing after a month. The only PVP focused game that has been some what successful is BDO in the MMORPG market and they even have PVE elements and keep adding in more stuff. It was a very good decision on Amazon Games to make it so every player can enjoy the game. It’s funny how when given the choice over 80% of the players choose to not be forced into PVP. That should really tell you something right there.

Its Fun when people believe grind nobrain elite groups day for day is the non plus ultra of Pve.

yet atm once you grind your GS now this game is just a poor version of a Pvp game and people dont realise that yet. theres pretty much nothing other than outpost rush for pve players and thats still pvp

In what sense is BDO PvP focused? Maybe a lot has changed since I last played it. I’d say games like EVE and Albion are more PvP focused in the classic MMORPG sense.

also see how dead this games gonna look in one more month, its dipped half its player base in 3 weeks, problems arent getting solved quickly enough. bringing in more players in the beginning for good press isnt always the smartest idea. if this stayed how it was supposed to back in the day they would be focusing on issues related to that now its just garbage pve endgame and garbage pvp systems / wars because they focused on pve and released way too early

thats like marketing chocolate chip icecream making alot of people buy it only to have it turn out its shit flavoured

You got me  Cheers!

Well sounds like you’re super unhappy and maybe you should find a game you enjoy honestly. It takes time to fix things and maybe they thought they were ready I have no clue on that part. I haven’t reached “endgame” yet because I didn’t rush I also do my crafting and gathering. I think the game has a lot more work on the PVP and PVE aspect because they’re both not in the best shape. They can’t take the release back now, well I guess they could but yeah. Maybe come back in a few months and see where it is at if it’s making you unhappy. Wish you the best on here.

those cheeky Scots !

If I were AGS, I would force PVP to everyone outside the cities EXCEPT if they are wearing a profession outfit, in which case they cannot attack or be attacked (civilians), I am not a PVP player, but this is a game based on PVP.

Yes please. The lack of PVP in this Steam labeled “PVP Game” is laughable. Swallow your pride, admit the streamers you pay to play don’t always have great ideas, and give PVPers PVP servers so we can play this game the way we wanna play it. The way it was originally made, I might add.

There’s literally 0 reason to not add them. The “lel split development excuse” might work if literally 100 other games didn’t successfully have PVP servers. Alas, that is not the case, so make one PVP server and see how fast it fills.

That’s a nice story, but it’s not what happened.

The idea of “splitting the community” was the best excuse in alpha because no one knew how many people would be on a server. Now we know the community is already split into hundreds of servers capped at 2k. That excuse is dead. Adding a couple of servers per region is not splitting the community any further than it already is. instead it is catering to a group has loudly screamed for a different experience.

It would not imply that the rest of the servers are non-PVP, it would only imply that the PVP servers are for the “hardcore” PVP’rs who want an experience where you cannot unflag. Now, if players willingly join those servers and they cry and quit because it didn’t give them their preconceived intended results, then so be it. They got what they asked for and they might not be as hardcore as they thought they were.
