Here’s a great comparison video using Red Dead Redemption 2 as a benchmarking game. It shows virtually identical gains for FSR and DLSS, but it also shows those gains to be only ~10% over native rendering in 1440p with DX12 selected. DX12 may in fact be one of the issues.
I think that the problem lay not on GPU side but on CPU side. I have i5 8600K and RTX3070 and I still often have frame drops because CPU usage hits 100% on all cores even on Medium/High setting.
Still FSR may help ppl with older or just lower end GPUs.
Ps. have you ever played GW2? I get 20-30FPS when I participate in world events there despite having good GPU.
This is true… New world uses a lot of CPU… my GPU also 3070 is using about 50%
I capped my FPS to 30FPS in the game menu and now it uses 80% at the most, at least i have 30FPS consant now…
So maybe AGS should also optimize it a bit more, so that the GPU does more than the CPU and then feed it with FSR
I never played GW2… but other games i play use more GPU than CPU… that why we have a GPU in the first place…
