FSS should be reclassified as regular servers after 6-12 months

There’s a difference between something that you plan to do and something that is forced upon you due to circumstance.

They could’ve said:

  • A: We do not have any plans to merge any Fresh Start Worlds into Legacy servers.

But they said:

  • A: We will never merge any Fresh Start Worlds into legacy worlds.

However, as you said they “have the right” to change either decision. In the second scenario, they might be forced to change their decision as FSWs die out, but that still doesn’t mean they will. It also doesn’t mean the “never” is not absolute.

No, it’s not. It very well can still be absolute.

Also, generally in the real world “Never” is not absolute.

Hate to break it to you but your suffering from cognitive dissonance.

I read it the same way that @ComfortablyNumb does.

In a year, FSS wont be fresh start servers, they will be legacy and it doesnt matter what they say today about FSS.

AGS will do as they see fit.

How so? Did you even read my last reply? There’s a clear reason why they chose to say “never” and then go on to close a thread about dividing the community.

It seems like you’re on massive amounts of copium to then assume that AGS will merge the two communities especially if they don’t have to.

Hope they merge 6-12 months later. Should be catch up servers not a game relaunch. They’re basically saying all these hours we spent on the game was a beta. Please think about this @Luxendra

I dont think legacy servers will die, fresh servers are hype and people who quitted might quit as soon as the hype is over. There are a lot of hardcores which is going to play as well which means they might dominate the map,so even if your concern becomes reality this means ags didnt care about their loyal playerbase thus people can quit and play another game.
No need to stress about it,if ags manages to ruin things for their old playerbase which played in very bad shape then people can find a game which would be better.

Which game would you people go to. Other MMOs are either skill-based, or it’s playbase has thousands of grinding hours over you people going into it. I don’t see you people being happy in another MMO.

Maybe you people can wait till AoC to get ahead of the curve. But AoC is looking to be too skill-base for you peoples’ taste.

please dont reply to me,thanks.

You Actually thinking the fss will be any different than the legacy in like 3-6 months is the real denial.

I Don’t Mind The fss I just think that there will be a hype, people will swarm, there will be ques, then some will rather play on their legacy than queuing and eventually feel like there’s no point going to fss because they missed the start.

Then there will be returning players who might still not like the core of the game and quit.

Then there’s the fact that mega corps have it all planned on how to dominate a server, doesn’t matter if all start with same gear and skills they know how to do everything and they will get all territories and economy will snowball. duping and such is just a minor part of the inflation main thing is from companies.

Most issues that fss people hate on legacy is still in the game and has not really been fixed which is why I don’t think fss will kill legacy.

I Hope both fss and legacy can live in synergy, and that people will move from fss to legacy and that this will be the norm, new players on fss and then rest on legacy but we will see.

The worst thing in this thread is from both sides wanting the other servers to die and both sides here are being dicks

again another useless topic. FFS are not even started and you think what will happen in 6-12 months. you are bored?

“It attracts people who want a level playing field” is code for “we missed the boat or rage quit and we want a redo, even at the cost of loyal players”.

What might end up happening is, the people who missed the boat or quit then will quit again and the OGs who already know exactly what they need to do to take over the map are going to do the same thing because they already have everything they want on legacy servers.

So it’ll be a race… again… and fss either do really well or they die when all the fomo folks leave again once the OGs take everything over and gate keep the content like they have been doing for a year.

That’s because that community manager is trying to do damage control. But the OP is right. Having legacy and fss communities as separate is divisive. And AGS should revisit it.

When FFXIV had legacy servers and new servers, after a year they let your legacy account move to the server with your friends.

Fresh servers are mostly targeted towards new players and returning players that quit the game before reaching level 60.

For those players, the best way to get used to the game, is starting from scratch, because a lot of things changed since when they quit.

Fresh servers offer a common equal ground for everyone to play and level together ( i want to level up with lots of low level players rather than going around the world all alone up to level 60 and not get invited in dungeons or whatever because i dont have the gears of a old player)

This will not divide the existing community since its targeted for new and returning players.

Yes, there might be existing players that want to tey the new leveling experience or whatever, but not many are willing to give up 4k hours on their current character.

Fresh start servers will probably become legacy once the playerbase will have the same or close average gear score and economy to a legacy server.

They keep acting like they’re not going to lol. They’re all going to have sneaky link characters, cheating on their legacy characters lol.

Yeah. Seasons do incredibly well to bring in revenue.
Its the only reason Archeage is still around at all, or why PoE is able to pump out consistent content updates multiple times a year.
The race out the gate is what brings in a wave of players, jacks up view counts on Twitch / Youtube, drives a new community to the game, and increases the games popularity.
This dies off after a month or so and there is usually a lull before the next season.
If NW can keep that pace ( creating freshstarts with massive content updates / expansions), they will increase their profits from the box price and new cosmetic purchases exponentially.

A new player buying the game and their first costume is more valuable than an old one who alread has everything they want.

All servers will be “legacy” in a year and then FSS wont exist. AGS can do as they please with all the servers then.

Yes, there may be fewer new players joining legacy servers compared to FS servers. So?

They might do exactly that. Do “FSS” every year. And once population drops those might get merged together or allow transfers between each other. And there’s enough “legacy” servers to keep the game rolling for an entire year without worry.

They literally had to say they won’t EVER merge Legacy into FSS due to the bugs/exploits on those and giving a promise to the potentially new playerbase.
Which obviously matters more than those who stuck with the game 6months ago. These guys seem to be one of the most delusional, entitled and cringiest group of players we’ve seen uptodate lol.
Great you stayed and played the game, don’t expect much.

They won’t ever let servers die, no matter if legacy or FSS.
Not merging Legacy into FSS doesn’t mean transfers won’t get allowed in a year or two.
But there’s enough players to keep legacy alive for another 1-2years without any worry, even if population drops by half

Ppl only mad they can’t flex on new players with their nolife timesink
Cause you can’t flex gear you got via skill in NW, that’s for sure

Yep. AGS is saying what they must say now and will change to suit in the future.

Forum posters just don’t understand that.

If either of the sets of servers start to die, they will most definitely allow for transfers. They aren’t going to orphan characters.
