By all means do request a new server where you are perma-flagged for PvP. You will have my full support…
When you die all your gear loses durability, it ain’t much but it works, also i’m pretty sure players drop loot (just don’t think it’s specifically their loot)
This game was actually built for that and it shows lol.
yeah, the game was actually intented to be pvp-full loot with pvp scaling /staggering system, unfortunately, they changed that, but didn’t changed the economy to reflect it
So far most of the people replying here are ignoring that I’m suggesting that these mechanics occur in specific zones/areas. Not the entire map…
Having played every MMO since 1998, a game with no meaningful PvP and no market economy will get very boring quickly, for me.
Yeah, the market as it is now seems very broken. I would suggest that the equipment cant be repaired or only a few times with lesser duration everytime, so it wears down and breaks over time. So you have a continuous flow of equipment. Also mobs should drop only base equipment (the white/grey ones) and consumables like potions should also be craftable only. The Dungeons can then drop crafting materials for the premium equipment and not the equip it self.
Damn imagine you grind days or weeks for one axe and it just breaks and is unrepairable
Maybe Pickaxes and this staff should break, and also lower tier Armor and weapons, until blue items. But I won´t make the legendary stuff breakable
No one will flag if they drop their gear on death. There simply will not be world pvp anymore.
That’s why you farm resources and craft gear sets as backup. It keeps resources meaningful. You haven’t played full loot mmo before? They thrive.
Here’s exactly how that goes.
- You gear up and set out to the end game area to collect your material for end game items
- after an hour of mining, you head back home, only to be jumped on by 5 dudes in a discord call, lose all your materials AND your gear.
- You figure it was bad luck and go out again
- You die again and now you have no spare gear
- “fine”, you say, and go out naked. If you have no gear, you have nothing to lose
- after two more hours of mining, you head back home with a full inventory of loot, only to be one shot by a musket sniper in a bush because you have no gear on and no defenses.
- You log out and uninstall
This is the fate of every full loot mmo. In fact, that was the case in alpha in THIS game, where there was full loot. Nakeds everywhere.
It’s real easy to fantasize about being the big dick chad killing everyone and taking their loot. It’s harder to imagine the reality that you are going to get jumped by timmy and his 9 friends.
OK, this is your first MMO Garstiger?
I can see now that this game is purely designed for new generation gamers who want to clutch their possessions without the thought of ever having to farm resources for MORE GEAR.
It’s a damn shame that gaming is going backwards, or at least, isn’t progressing.
Welcome to “New World of Warcraft”
To Dustbone’s comment. That’s the typical step-by-step procedure of a maladaptive potato gamer. Games like these thrive on players adapting to these situations and teambuilding to overcome them.
Look at Albion online, just log in and look at all the thousands of people thriving in a full loot MMO - it’s evidence that your imagination isn’t helping you here.
Don’t take my word for it. You can experiment with this concept yourself and see if you would enjoy it. I challenge you to play by your own suggestion.
Here are the rules;
- You must be flagged at all times
- If you die, you delete everything you’re wearing and everything in your inventory.
Since full drop isn’t in the game,we’re going to simulate it. Every time you die, delete everything and start over.
See how long you have fun. Report back with your findings. Matter of fact that could bea fun video series. Simulated full loot pvp.
No those aren’t the conditions I’m proposing and No I don’t need to experiment. I’ve played every MMO since 1998.
Once again for all the people who can’t read.
You make SOME zones full loot pvp drop - containing resources for level 60.
I’m NOT proposing the whole map becomes full loot pvp.
Fine. You must be flagged in Everfall. That’s the full loot zone.
If you aren’t even willing to play by the rules you want implemented in the game, why would they be
Anyway, I’m unsubscribing from this forum post and stepping away from the game.
I don’t need another sleepy grind where PvP isn’t meaningful and there is no economy for its resources, we have a plethora of these.
Take care o/
I must agree, I am concerned that when I look down the road at this game, there is a serious concern that the economy is going to become a clumsy mess.
Everything in New World is going to become completely Useless without a system in place to keep a hard Necessity for more and more resources, a never ending supply/cycle. There is going to come a point where everybody has the gear they need and there is going to be so many dang resources on the market just the TRADING POST/Market is going to become useless, The economy is an IMPORTANT factor in a game so This is apsolutely a serious CONCERN, keeping a vibrant Economy is So important for the Longevity in New World and there needs to be a system in place to stop the economy from getting Overloaded, there needs to be a system where there is always a need for the resources, for more for more, yada yada.
I get what you’re saying and there should be more for the solo or small group pvper but as it stands now the game is more geared for medium sized companies to fight over the map.
Idk if dropping all your loot on death would help. They tried that before and everyone hated it.
I think that there needs to be an economic revamp. Until I hit 60 and see what all the crafting can do and how far the system goes i will reserve my suggestions
Please take into account the game just released and New World I am sure is aware of this, they will probably develope some methods or a system to keep the economy extremely vibrant and everything always needing to be gathered and used and crafted and all.
Maybe like a hardcore Land, where players have a chance to lose all or maybe a random 1-2 pieces of gear per death in this specific said land but such rare and the best mining and gathering stuff must be gathered in said land. There needs to be a system, LIKE NEEDS TO BE, where the economy is always going and vibrant, Always a hardcore need for resources and gathering, for crafting and everything.
Also a big concern, if they make a specific world like I just described, or specific territory’s. There needs to be a system where players cannot go in said territory with more than 5 players, and if you go as a group or with other players beyond the 5 player number, it’s a suspendable offense up to bannable.
Because if there was such a territory there would be companys rolling through said territory’s in groups of 50s just destroying everybody in there path and it would be useless to even enter it.
How many full loot MMOs are thriving? Most have either a tiny playerbase or just die in in less than a year. Lol.
Albion Online and Even Online are only two exceptions but then again I wouldn’t say they are thriving if compared to top PVE MMOs. They just do ok and keep servers on with reasonable player numbers.
Listen if Amazon wanted to make a niche MMO they would have made it already. There is no huge profit in making such games that’s why mostly small indie studios make such MMOs.
