Game Actively Blocks Playing With Friends

I’ve played many MMO based games since the late 90’s with a group of mates but New World seems very anti play the game ‘together’ and we’d love this to be addressed properly as it really does demotivate getting together and playing more often

Individual 24hr timers (elite chests, topaz runs etc.) - reset this to a specific global time each day, it creates a false block to doing content if one or more of us played through an area the previous day and the timer is still active

Quests - the inability to share quests between friends or even be on the same one automatically splits us up, it feels like we are all playing a single player game and just chatting over discord

OPR - has no meaning passed getting 2 gypsum, no rewards, no ranking, aimbots galore etc. So we log in grab the red stuff and run out, there’s no real incentive to play all night like in Dark Age of Camelot

Dungeons - no one wants to do them post quest line requirements, why? Because we have to play the gear score game and be 590 before we waste high level orbs that costs a fortune to make, we’ve run Genesis once to see the content on offer but see no real point in going in for a couple of GS bumps that can be attained far easier using gypsum

In all, for some of our regular gaming nights we have to cajole each other to actually log in to do stuff. We regularly run shattered mountain area content as a group of four until we get rolled over by the zerg doing a chest run, inevitably join for bumps as it’s an easy win towards doing dungeons hopefully a little but quicker

Adding the new mutations stuff sounds fun but bar those who play 24/7 most other players aren’t anywhere near this content or in game pay wall that’s required due to key costs from global chatter we see

We really like the game format but these and other bugs / features make it very hard justifying the longevity of our collective and precious free time if we are constantly stopped and discouraged from gaming together as friends, thx for reading

New player here, want to drop my 2 cents.

Time gating players is poor game design that fails to address a core issue that stems from a lack of playable content.

It punishes players that have a long play session ahead of them, effectively driving them away of the desired task at best… but out of the game at worst… sometimes definitely as frustration levels may hit a breaking point following a failed attempt with no option to retry in the short term.

I feel atm that this game feels impossibly lonely as a low level player, as most of the population is lvl 60 and most of them unable to support me directly.

My community provided me with good starting ressources and advices… but there is a cruel lack of game mechanics that promotes direct mentorship of newer players by veterans.

Couple this with what OP mentioned and you have a dead end for player population in the mid-long term at best, and short-term at worst.

We need features that promotes players banding together for long periods of times, regardless of their levels or gear score and with as little restrictions as possible to address that.

We need that solution as quickly as possible as well.

Well, I chat in-game, but other than the elite areas we are at different parts of map, gathering and doing town/faction quests that are not shared and following individual tree cool-downs…
The game really does a lot to discourage team play. I like the New World chat room, the visuals are rather good, but I wish things were not so inefficient with friend. Even collecting presents along the way in group is just bad and everyone gets much lower rewards than if people play alone.
