As a general rule, the mini-map follows exact rules of compass and cannot give players an advantage of any type over the compass. Information to be used for display, even within the limitations expressed below, must come from the Overwolf API, which we may add to over time but can’t commit to at the moment.
The mini-map can:
Show player position
Show folks in group as we do on compass
Only show node placement if they’ve unlocked that node via tradeskills, provided it is within the range that compass would display them.
Only show AI that you’ve unlocked via tradeskills as compass and within range of compass.
Show quests as they do on compass
At this time we can confirm that we have not banned anyone for using the mini-map mod from Overwolf. In the future, we may change our position on this and decide to add a mini-map or change our position on allowing Overwolf. If we were to change, we would give plenty of notice along with a designated grace period where would not ban players for continued use, but would take action after that grace period has ended.
It breaks a lot of the rules here, so I wouldn’t go around telling people you’re using it. Again, there’s no way for anyone to be able to detect if you’re using it or what features you’re using.
I like the part where this carefully worded statement keeps making this point so the moment it stops doing this, it immediately stops being allowed.
Will try to see if its actually confirmed that its getting blocked or if Overwolf needs to update their addon to work with 1.1. You know, the way that all the addons have to do it when the game updates itself.
It’s not, though… Overwolf is on EAC’s whitelist (and has been for a considerable amount of time) so I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that EAC considers it malware. Most likely this is an instance of a specific map application being blocked, not Overwolf.
So much misinformation being thrown around in this thread…

Is there an overwolf map that doesnt break these rules? It seems impossible because overwolf cant know what you should be allowed to see based on your skill levels without pulling more information than your location from the game.
Apparently they decided that Overwolf is incompatible with their policy.
It doesnt break any of those things listed. Again the addon only show you player location. It doesnt actually show you any other info from the game. It shows a website with known location of things. It doesnt show location of things in the game.
The addon pulls player location from the game. That is allowed. The addon pulls no other info from the game.
The statements are very specific about what overwolf can and can’t do. When its not doing this, then EAC will block it. It’s possible that patch 1.1 changed the API and Overwolf has to update itself to fix THEIR problems with the new game files.

Sorry what? That’s exactly what you approved. Please, try to read at least once what is “anticheat” and how much control over your PC it has (spoiler: literally all)
I literally just logged in right now with Overwolf and Aeternum Map active so I’ve no clue what you’re talking about. EAC isn’t blocking anything. Most likely something else is the issue, not Overwolf.
