Game being melee centric kills the pvp scene and players to be the blamed mostly

If you arent using melee in New World, youre at a disadvantage.

Period.

(Life staff is THE exception but just because more heals = more melee spam)

Just because some people can use other builds effectively in certain situations, theres almost no instances where the same thing couldnt have been accomplished with a melee weapon, but better.

A majority people in this game want to play the way they like to play. And when that’s countered they throw a fit and say the opposite is op or ruining the game.

“ when I as a light armor melee player run into a group of 8 ranged players I don’t stand a chance” yeah you shouldn’t.

“ I can’t win opr as a ranged player because if I go on the point melee smacks me around” as they should

The a lot of the balance issues in the game would be helped if you just made friends and played with them as a team.

Everyone in OPR is just interested in killing people it’s rare to get a March with decent team work.

@HagenZ Is this your first MMO, or are you just gaslighting? In GW2, ESO, FFXIV, and BDO both range and melee playstyles are competitive in both PvE and PvP modes. However, in those MMOs those Devs balance skills and classes differently in PvP and PvE. That’s part the issue with New World.

Poor designed rewarding system at opr its the main problem of all of these childish emotional complains. @AGS hey Linda, listen linda, you Cant incentivate solo playstyle rewarding loosing team top scorers by just doing a certain ammount of damage. The only public PvP where we could cooperate as a team you turned It into a “damage numbers fest”.

This. Most OPR I’ve played and lost there was 0 communication in the team.
Making calls in Army chat like “5man squad Luna” were ignored because zerging open field between Sol & Astra was more important…

OPR is a shitshow, partly because of the way points are generated and how points contribute to the PvP rewards track.
If they change how getting points works it will change the meta by miles!

Talk about unhealthy PvPer attitude… visit a park dude

I probably played MMOs when you were not even born.
Started with MUDs on telnet when the WWW did not even exist.

He can engage in PvP in a park as well. Might as well do it inside a warm home.

Great post btw, bit edgy, but it has a lot in common with reality. Was always amused at “REEEEE I’m a medium bruiser why can’t i catch and delete a light user”
What’s funny is that I don’t really see any counterarguments, rather some useless advices like “go walk in a park” or “woah toxic” or memes. Guess there isn’t much to argue about lol.

i never wanted melee to be irrelevant. i still dont, but im against the discrimination. if you are not melee you are basically griefing and im sick of this treatment, now they constantly keep crying about rangeds in opr. well, guess what, that is because of you. everyone who refuse to play oonga boonga now have limited chances anyway. what you expect? is there anything else left to play?

just think about it, the mage, as a whole class, I MEAN THE WHOLE AND PURE PURPOSE OF A CLASS is to be ig/vg, stay in melee range and support melee daddies so they can secure their kills.

this is not a support class, this is a mage class. and yet, that is the only usage of a mage in a competitive pvp environment. let that sink in and think if that is how its supposed to work

Thus does not foster a friendly, positive community.

OPR bows and Muskets not pushing Objectives half our team standing outside the door trying to steal kills from people not afraid to die to get kills and we end up being farmed Yeah Ranged players have no place to talk out of term.

VG is a support weapon, the mages are the Reason you got Nerfed from bragging about how OP you all were so you were nerfed.

a light, under no circumstances should be caught by a heavy armor user by any means under this weapon balance terms

If you can kill someone you should also be able to die to them, free damage has no place in pvp and the desire for reveals just how cowardly some are.

I do find the assertion that the the light roll changes are more threating than being two shot by muskets quite assuming.

edit-how to fix–reduce pvp barriers and retune balance toward skilled gameplay
make azoth salt spendable same as umbral shards
add all relevant pvp mods to faction vendor like resil also purchased w combined salt/gold/tokens
add better rewards to pvp track
rework bow/musket to mid range classes
rework mage to have spellcaster side and autoattack weapon swap combo side(battlemage).

games balance is in a sorry state because actual pvpers have long since given up on the game. the only people left giving feedback are the dumpster dregs of make believe pvpers who just want simple iWin scenarios.

games progression path through pve filtered out actual pvpers and the declining gameplay, lowered skill ceiling and raised skill floor has made this game a joke perfect for tab target gamers who can’t actually play action combat with any degree of competence.

just roll dex and farm nerds till the next game my 2 cents.

AGS needs a free weekend already after a discounted soft relaunch because the gameplay combined w anemic content can’t retain a playerbase for long.

In terms of NW it’s related to “A delayed game is eventually good*, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

FFIV (relaunch) is a singularity.
