Game-breaking Mortal Empowerment Bug

  • What is your character name in New World: Suzutai
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Camelot
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: It seems that you can stack the Mortal Empowerment bonus 15 times for EACH PERSON, not in total. This is obviously very problematic in a setting like war.
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug, very easily exploited.
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: It’s about to make the last Hatchet bug look like a joke.
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: I still haven’t recovered psychologically from the last time we had a game-breaking damage bug.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:

Note: This tester has only 50 DEX

  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Let someone kill you more than 15 times. Let someone kill another person more than 15 times. Repeat.

Bump. I need to make sure a dev sees this because I am sure there are already people abusing the crap out of this.

It wouldn’t matter if they had 2000 stacks; the damage formula caps at 50% empower from all damagetype sources. This would only really make it so weaken couldn’t bring you below that; but it’s not game breaking

First, permanent 50% Empower regardless of Weaken is extremely game-breaking. This tester intentionally gimped his DEX just so we can see how much damage he’s doing with Rapid Shot.

Second, I am not even sure it’s an Empower effect. He got to 120 stacks, and I don’t think it ever stopped increasing.

I understand. I just wouldn’t consider it that way myself.

Bump again the tester got to 250 stacks when I went to sleep last night, hit me with a 8K pen shot

What gearscore is his bow? Is he making sure he has no points in the bow mastery except the ability? What armor rating and gems do you have? Etc.

Even if 8k Pen shot doesnt sound massive (With 400dex and 625 Laz Bow I’ve hit max 7k myself so far) The Poison shot doing 1.7k a tick is Abso-freakin-lutely bonkers. I hit pen shots with my 20% Roll empower and they only tick for like 280-300. Doing 1.7k is ridiculous.

That’s not a poison tick. That’s Thrust and Arcane Damage. Poison doesn’t get split, and is Nature damage

So some of the people who were testing this bug with me got temp-banned. While I understand that people exploiting should be banned, it seems like a lot of people were unintentionally caught in this who should not have been. That really does not sit well with me because it just reduces the willingness of people to test and bring these things to light.

Can a CM message me so that I can provide a list of the names of my fellow testers?

Yeah, I reported that I cant stack the empowerment buff. In OPR it doesnt work at all due to maybe the instant death and sometimes in open world it just refreshes back to one when you kill someone :grinning:

i suppose they fixed it? Tryd to test further but cant go above 15 stacks.
