Hi all. I think it is high time to update and improve the game chat.
First of all: completely redesign personal messages.
Second: make copy-paste without any complications. Now I can not copy and send a message that contains different characters.
For example, I can not paste with key combinations CTRL + V text that contains characters “!”,“?”,“',”,“,” and so on.
I agree that the chat system needs to be changed. Desperately. But in more ways than the above suggest.
For one, the current system has had a bug since the beginning of the game that if you mute any channel, there may be delays in your chat messages. You will type and they won’t show for several seconds or minutes. Turning off all mutes and turning them back on will fix the issue temporarily but it will eventually happen again.
Second, we need multiple configurable chat windows. We should be able to assign one or more channels to be displayed in each of those windows and they should be sizeable and movable to anywhere on the screen. That way, we can follow conversations happening in Company, Group, etc, all at the same time, without having the interference of other conversations like Global, Trade and Recruitment. If were able to separate conversations in to multiple windows, we wouldn’t be constantly changing which Channel we want to look at all the time. We would also not need all the annoying pop-up notifications and missed message counts.
This is not new. It is in most other MMOs that I’ve played and it’s a prime quality of life upgrade.
Please. Redesign chat so that we can communicate with each other better.
