Game crashes GPU (MSI 3060 Ti)

As with most of the crashes, there’s no rhyme or reason to it and this only happens with New World.
Short system specs:
Windows 10 Pro
CPU: i7-11700F
RAM: 16GB
GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti
hard drive: M.2 1TB (plenty of room left)

I crash very quickly if I’m running at 4k resolution. I have FPS capped at 60 although according to NVidia the game was running at 70fps when it reset (while playing at 1920x1080 resolution). I was able to get through the tutorial at 1080 resolution, frame capping doesn’t seem to work.

I’ve monitored GPU temperatures and voltages, nothing out of the norm!

as a followup, after New World restarted my PC several times and purple pixels filled the screen at the BIOS startup several times dxdiag is showing that my GPU has been disabled because

There is a problem with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti device. For more information, search for ‘graphics device driver error code 43’

Pretty sure New World just fried my GPU but luckily I’m still under warranty and NewEgg is sending me a replacement. Hopefully by the time it arrives Amazon will have a solution.

Got my replacement the other day. After capping the max fps in the NVidia Control Panel at 60, lowering max voltage by 80%, lowering the resolution to 1080p, capping the fps in the game at 60, changing monitor properties to cap at 60Hz, and monitoring voltage and temperatures for a while the game has run for several hours without incident.

Conclusions? The fix seems to be on the player to limit the graphics card from overstressing itself, pray, and be ready to RMA your graphics card if things go badly.
