  • What is your character name in New World: PollyPocketoOrk
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Dry Tree
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: since a large amount of people transferred to the server we have been having terrible lag and it takes too long to load in after fast travelling or loading into instances. I have been AFK kicked and temporarily banned from OPR due to load in time and kicked from Invasions for the same. Also the game crashes as I load into instances of dungeons, OPR and Invasions and since you upped the cap for people on the Dry Tree server, you than have to queue for 35 mins to a hour to get back into the game. There is terrible lag and terrain doesn’t load in correctly. You rubberband after loading into the area after fast travelling or into a dungeon.
This was never an issue for me before, but it is constant now!
  • Is this a bug? (If this is an exploit, please dm Aenwyn or Luxendra) Bug
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I cannot play the content that I want to… I want to do M10’s and invasions but as I crash or lag I cannot.
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No… I had to reload into the game and this means queueing and arriving after whatever company event instance or content I was wanting to do is over.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: I was not recording at the time.
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: play at peak on dry tree server. I am not the only one having this issue.

Sorry to hear you’re having these crashes!

I’ve moved this over to the support section so our support team can check into this for you.

Hello @PollyPocketOrk and thank you @Centeotl for moving this thread over,

It is good to have you back in the forums! I am sorry to hear you seem to be having connection and lag issues. Our developers are aware and have therefore added new servers: [Notice] Adding Additional Servers to Central EU, US-East, and South America

Aside from this. here are some things you can try in order to troubleshoot this:

1- Please verify the integrity of game with the Steam integrity check
How To run a Steam Integrity Check
2- Close other applications that may be taking up your bandwidth.
3- Switch to a wired connection.
4- Restart your router and modem.
5- Troubleshoot your firewall.

-Press Windows + R, type “firewall.cpl” into the Run window, and then press Enter.
-Click Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall and then click Change settings.
-Look for the game in the list of allowed apps and features. If it’s present, make sure it’s checked, and that both the Private and Public columns have a check mark. If the app is missing from the list, you need to add it.
*Click Allow another app…, locate and select the app, then click Add.
*Once you’ve done that, you need to ensure that the app is checked, and that it has check marks under both the Private and Public columns.

6- Test your connection for packet loss or buffering. To test, go here and click the big Start Test button to start the test. Once the test is complete, the results are displayed.
7- Verify you are not using VPN or proxy services. (Note the use of VPN is not permitted when connecting to our servers).

If the issue persists after this, the scenario will require our tech team to look into your logs and follow up directly with other possibly sensitive account information that is best not posted on the forums so it would be best if you could please create a web ticket by going to Contact Us | Amazon Games.

I hope this helps and if not, do not hesitate reaching out to live support.

See you in Aeternum! :wolf:

All of this was done, all files verified, the game files deleted and uninstalled and reinstalled the settings have been set to low instead of high, caped frames to 60, updated graphics driver, rolled back graphics driver… In the end I wiped my pc and reinstalled windows. This has fixed the issue but now others in the company are having the same problem. Not sure why or what is causing it. I checked my system log and one was showing anti cheat and a lot showing disk issues, and other times no issue was logged at all. I have shared my experience with others in the company to try and help them but I know not all are able to just wipe their PC as easily as myself as mine is only for gaming and ATM I only play NW.

I have had to submit a ticket as the issue has returned. The game just insta-closes… I was on a portal run with company mates this evening at about 4:30pm UK time most of the company lagged and were kicked from the game… Many on area chat were asking about having crashed out of the game when we finally made it back in from the queue so it is a server wide issue. I am now having the game insta-close, there is no lag the game just fully closes. Its so frustrating because I can’t even get back in to play right away as I have to queue again. Only to have it crash out again a few minutes later.

Hello @PollyPocketOrk,

I am sorry to hear you are now experiencing this issue with instant crashes. The ticket to support is the best course of action but here are some very basic things you can check on in the mean time to possibly alleviate this:

  1. Ensure your video drivers are up to date.
  2. Set Windows power settings to High Performance.
  • Press Windows + R, type “powercfg.cpl” into the Run window, and then press Enter.
  • Select the radio button next to the High performance power plan. You may need to click Show additional plans first.
  1. Delete Temp Files:
  • Hold Windows+R.
  • In the run window, type “%temp%“.
  • In the file tab that appears, delete all files.
  • Now, try to launch the game.
  1. Clean boot Windows by following these instructions:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows (to reduce startup applications/Check for Malware).
  2. Reset your video driver software to the default settings.
  3. Check for evidence of overheating.
  4. Please verify the integrity of game with the Steam integrity check once again.

I hope this helps and if not, do not hesitate continuing to reach out to live support.

All of the above has been done… The issue is lying with the game and needs sorting on your side now.
