Game crashing on high-end PC

Hi there!

I’ve build a new PC to opt back into New World after a break.

Unfortunately, I’ve been spending the last few days online trying to find a fix to my game crashing randomly every 10-30 mins. Also happening on PTR.

My rig:
ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WIFI II
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor
ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 24GB
Cooler Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler
RAM CORSAIR Vengeance RGB RT 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600
SSD WD_Black SN850X NVMe Gen4 1TB
PSU CORSAIR RMX SeriesTM RM1000x

Settings:
I run the game on high settings (uncapped) 1440p.
Max utilization when ingame 40% CPU - 50% GPU.
Temps are very stable in the 60s both CPU and GPU.

Things I’ve tried:

  • Repair/reinstall game
  • Repair/reinstall Easycheat
  • Firewall disabled
  • Malware scan
  • All drivers are up-to-date
  • Game mode on/off
  • Game bar disabled
  • Resize bar disabled
  • Undervolting GPU
  • Fresh install of windows 10
  • Fresh install of windows 11
  • Priority: high
  • Run as administrator
  • IPv6 disabled
  • Whitelisted NW and Easycheat
… and pretty much everything else I could find online.

I have dxdiag, logs, and crash reports available if needed. Let me know where I should share those.

Thank you for your help!!

Hoping I can finally enjoy my expensive build

I’m trying to solve a freezing issue that many others have posted about. When you say “game crashes”. Do you get an actual error message or program crashes to deskstop? My game will just freeze and I have to end via task manager. This error among other things is in logs :

<2022-10-19 23:25:16.714>: [Info] (AZCore): [Rendering] Present failed, error code -2005270523. Attempting to recover…

Most of the time it freezes for a couple of seconds and then crashes to desktop. I get an error message/report in these cases.

But I’ve also ran into the issue where I need to shut it down using task manager…

Hello @Meatball and @Tr0ubles!

I am sorry to hear you’re experiencing random freezes/crashes, thank you for saving the logs and the dxdiag after the crash, after what you have already tried it would be better to reach us directly so we can investigate on what could be causing these random crashes, here is the contact information:

Congratulations on the new PC and hopefully after we check that error you can return to Aeternum!

Thank you. I already did that and will be waiting for your answer in 48-72h.

In the meantime, hopefully someone else have a solution.

Thanks…

Here’s the error I get when it crashes to desktop.

do you use vsync, and/or what is your frame limit set to?

Vsync OFF
Frame limited to 144 in Rivatuner

(Also tried without frame limiter, same result)

still no solution?

Hello @X1a,

I am sorry to hear you are having a similar issue to the one on this thread. Please note, if the troubleshooting listed above by @Fostus does not clear it for you, you can try contacting support via the links they provided.

Good luck! :wolf:

Run memtest to test your memory stability. If found any erros, turn off xmp/expo

A lot of times (especially for new world), game crash because memory corruption/errors.

if your memory is stable, unlikely you will have game crash (instant exit) issue.

Run memtest from boot MemTest86 - Creating a MemTest86 boot disk in Windows and let it bake several hours.

If any errors (even 1), that means your memory is bad(at running this “overclocking” profile), try to turn off (xmp / expo) or run in lower frequency

upd:
lowered power limit from default 100% to 90% on my GPU with msi afterburner
tested in two game sessions (around 19h) - no crashes\freezes, all was good as before update.
probably this is solution but still wierd because before update all was good.
Problem 100% in game code because i didnt change any configuration in PC before.

temporary solutions but still solution…
