My game crashed on 12/26 and ever since I cannot load into the game. Not even the opening page when clicking on the shortcut. Not sure what to do.

Ryzen 7 4800H
Windows 10 pro
Nvidia gforce GTX 1650 TI
16Gb RAM

Please help i want to play

I am very sorry you are encountering constant crashes with the game, I will suggest you first verify the integrity of the files through Steam:

  1. Restart your computer and launch Steam
  2. From New World’s library page, select Manage > Properties .
  3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files… button.
  4. Steam will verify the game’s files - this process may take several minutes.

In case still not working, you can try deleting some files. You should back up the files before deleting in case things go wrong.

  1. On your keyboard, press Win+R (the Windows logo key and the R key) to invoke the Run box. Type or paste %appdata% and click OK .
  2. Go to AGS > New World and delete the following:
  3. The savedata folder
  4. The user_preload_settings file
  5. Now you can restart New World and see if the game crashes again.

Also, make sure that all drivers, Windows and bios area fully updated. Feel free to contact us back in case you still have the same issue.

In december the game startet to crash during stream and the last couple of days it started to crash more often when I am not streaming.
Yesterday it did not start at all after update of drivers (Windows update and Nvidia). I get the New World picture and then it quits.
I have tried all the debugging steps yesterday and today.

  • Verify steam game files
  • EasyAntiCheat uninstall/install
  • In event viewer there is no error, I see EasyAntiCheat starts and stops (Event ID 6 and 1).
  • Uninstalled game and installed it again from Steam.

Have not tried rollback on drivers.

Character name: VonDead
World: Murias
Region: EU central

Edit: Tried rollback on windows update and nvidia to november 2021 (before problems occured), then I got at least to In-game menu. Not sure about the long-term stability.

  • Press Windows+R on the keyboard, type %localappdata% and press enter.
  • Open the most recent file from this folder: AGS/New World/LogBackups.
  • Send the logs file that you see in the LogBackups folder.

I figured out the problem. I had over 140 hours in the game before the problem occurred. I had to install older video drivers and use a program to turn down the power to the gpu. When playing new world only, it was making my gpu to hot and causing my computer to shut down. I turned the power down to 75% on my gpu and now I can play again. Put it about 13 hours over the weekend with only 1 soft crash that only crashed the game and not my pc. So glad I am back in new world!!! The program is called MSI AFTERBURNER. The graphics driver I am using for n is is is 496.13 game ready driver. I tried some of the newer drivers and they still crashed my pc even after turning power down to 75%.
